Approaching 50. What non-surgical beauty treatments will perk me up?

I'll be 50 in Sept and want some rejuvenating beauty treatments as my birthday gift to myself. Nothing surgical, but I'm willing to try more than a basic facial.

What will make a noticeable difference? Main concerns are eye bags/circles, jawline and large pores.

Tips for clinics/salons in London (south/central) also appreciated. Thanks!

I've given in and I started using Superdrug collagen drops they moisten and plump the skin hence reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

I have Guinot facials every now and again. It’s a hydrodermie facial, lasts about an hour including a neck and shoulder massage. Includes lots of different creams, a really great deep clean and rollers on the skin to improve muscle tone etc. Look it up. They cost t £50 to £60 a go but I feel so afterwards. Alternatively look up CACI facials which are facials that you have as part of a course to get toning to jaws, cheeks or around eyes in a more natural way, it’s more costly obviously. Depends whether you are looking for a one off treat or something more.

Thanks both. Looking for facials and other treatments rather than products but will check out the collagen drops. Much appreciated - the facials sound great

Hydra facial
Lumity vitamins

But really, a spot of Botox and fillers is where it's at.

TobyLeRhone · 20/06/2021 08:20

I met a friend last week after not seeing her for a year or so. She asked me if I had been for fillers and botox, which I have not. I have been consistently using a NuFace.

Standrewsschool · 20/06/2021 08:24

A new haircut!?

lawn · 20/06/2021 09:57

Ooh excellent suggestions everyone, I'm excited to check all these out!

Had haircut yesterday but thanks for that one Smile

Botox
Lip fillers

RillHunner · 20/06/2021 12:49

Oops so sorry, you want non surgical.

Villanelle17 · 20/06/2021 13:37

Hydrafacial, dermapen, Morpheus8 to tighten jawline, but it's expensive.

Angbunnyboo · 20/06/2021 16:05

Hydrofacial, mesotherapy, botox, fillers, lasers - and trying to decide on Morpheus 8.

I'd also get an LED mask and a Nuface. Use consistently and you really notice the difference.

Look at https://thetweakmentsguide.com for advice and information on all non-surgical procedures. She's there is loads of information about each tweakment and videos so you can see before and after.

Following

ElspethFlashman · 20/06/2021 18:29

Going to a dermatologist to get pigmentation frozen off. They use the liquid nitrogen in a can and zap your blotches and the following week they darken and fall off.

Made a big difference.

JaneJeffer · 20/06/2021 18:45

That sounds great @ElspethFlashman. Is it expensive?

JinglingHellsBells · 20/06/2021 18:52

@lawn Am confused. Non surgical means no scalpels. Botox or fillers are non surgical. If you want fillers etc or other treatments using 'machines' like dermaroller etc.I have heard very good reports about the Cosmetic Skin Clinic is Devonshire Place and it's won awards. Dr Tracy Mountford heads it and has a great team. See the website.

Their selling point is to 'under treat' so it's very subtle.

lawn · 20/06/2021 19:04

Thanks Jingling, that's very helpful. Not sure what the confusion is?

JinglingHellsBells · 20/06/2021 19:17

Ok sorry. It was where you said looking for facials and other treatments. I thought you meant not things like injectables too.

Cosmetic Skin Clinic is worth a look. Dr Mountford evidently has a 6 month waiting list and is taking on no new patients, but plenty of other good drs there.

lawn · 20/06/2021 19:35

Great thanks Jingling, no I meant all kinds of non-surgical treatments but so much products as I've already got a lot of those!

Bought a nu face mini not had it long but can see a subtle change looking forward to the weeks ahead

lawn · 21/06/2021 06:14

*not so much products, I mean!

lawn · 21/06/2021 06:15

Thanks Laburnam, had been thinking about one of those

I had to pay the consultation fee, which was €150/200 something like that.

But the "procedure" was covered by Laya. But I think it would have only been between 100-200 as it was literally a can in her office.

She did my back too as I get these ugly brown spots which I thought were moles but turns out were more superficial and she was able to burn them off too!

Its so easy to fix! I honestly think I was in and out in 15 mins.

JaneJeffer · 21/06/2021 10:33

Thanks @ElspethFlashman. I've just remembered my DM had some age spots zapped by her GP in his surgery.

Confusedandshaken · 21/06/2021 12:04

Microblading. It's taken at least 10 years off me.
