Where to find an Interview outfit

I have just applied for a job for the first time in 10 years! Eek.

It is in a secondary school and though I may be jumping the gun as I've only just submitted my application, I need to start thinking about an interview outfit cos they'd be mad to to want to meet me. Grin
What to wear (role is in a secondary school office)
Where to find it - I don't want to shop online as my shape has changed in recent years and I am sure I will need to try lots on before I find success.

What shops should a 5'3" slightly apple shaped 45 year old look in for an interview outfit?

Also, what is Carlisle like for shops? While I have been at home I have moved to the Lake District and lived in jeans, so need to ask... is Carlisle a good shopping city?

A) Congratulations on submitting an application.

B) Isn't any interview likely to be online? Requiring a clean blouse, a couple of days of grooming prep, an uncomplicated background and good lighting for a zoom call.

C) Everyone I've encountered in school offices over the past ten years wears variations on a dress and a cardigan.

D) You really need to get into the habit of shopping online for clothes! Why limit yourself to the handful of shops in your local area when you have unlimited choice online? Most clothes are cut to fit most people, unless you are a singularly unusual shape there's no reason why you should find any difficulty. Measure yourself in every direction in advance and have those notes to hand. Most online shops will give the size measurements of every garment. Many shops also have online tools to match an item to your own body shape. You get to try stuff on at home. The worst that can happen is a trip to the Post Office to return what doesn't suit.

I won't link any suggestions as you haven't said what your budget might be - but it's the sales season so you should be able to get some excellent things.

I'm afraid I can't help with Carlisle if you insist on going into physical shops!

Thanks Mayidestroyyou, much appreciated. You made me laugh with variation on dress and a cardigan, very true now that you say that. 😆
I've done loads of online shopping but though it's great for the kids I find the success rate for me much lower and it ends up taking more time to browse, order, try on and return than just a day out and bringing home something that you know fits cos you've tried it on. Also, because my shape has changed a lot since my professional dressing ultra slim sporty days I find it hard to picture if it will suit me in my minds eye from the online picture, I need to educate myself on what I can carry off as much as anything.
It's good to hear some online match body shapes though, I haven't come across that so I'll see if I can find that, it might make a difference.
