Is there a way of rehydrating your hair?

I know there are lots of products that add shine (usually some kind of silicone) but they just coat your hair. I'm looking for something that will penetrate the hair and help to make it look more hydrated - a bit like moisturiser for your skin. I've tried olive oil but that seems to really weigh it down, and as my hair is fine and thin it's the last thing I need.

Does anyone have any good suggestions please?

Have you tried the 8 second miracle liquid thing ? I have started using this and after the first try where i was a bit meh, it has started making my coarse dry hair feel really soft and shiny. I tried it last night after shampoo and conditioner by just rubbing a little of my hands smoothing through and leaving and hair is lovely today. Otherwise when my hair was long morrocan oil was my go to.

Thanks for all your responses. I have now done a second PurePlex treatment, and left it on for an hour this time instead of 15 minutes. Again, it made absolutely no difference.

I've been using sulphate-free shampoo and silicone-free conditioner for months, but I'm so tempted to go back to the silicone stuff as at least it made my hair look shiny and didn't frizz at every available opportunity.

I recently had a friend trim my hair, and she layered it a bit, which I think has caused a lot of my issues - it's so thin on the ends that they just frizz up, so I have no style and it's just dry and thin Sad.

Those of you who've recommended Elasticizer, which one is it? There seem to be quite a lot of products in that range and I thought I might give it a try.

@StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes will Google the 8 second thing, thanks.

Use curly girl method as it's known to put moisture back into hair. It doesn't matter if your hair isn't curly.

Don't wash everyday. Use a sulphate free shampoo. 'Squish to condish' - Google this.

Apply this leave in conditioner to soaking wet hair.

Scrunch dry with t shirt (instead of towel).

This aveda leave in treatment came in the M&S summer beauty bag and it's so good I wish I'd bought more of them!

I've also been using the red bottle tigi and it's fantastic.

Coconut oil for 20 mins or more before you wash it. It's not as good as castor oil but easier to wash out.

A small but of conditioner scrunched into the ends of hair that is not damp is good too.

You want a deep conditioner OP, one that specifies in the instructions to leave on for at least 5-10mins. I have relaxed hair but if you look in the textured hair product section, you’ll find lots of deep conditioners. Shea moisture have some lovely ones, good luck!
