Is there such a thing as dark brown henna?

My hair is dark brown with a few greys which im not bothered about but as I’ve got older (60s) my hair generally looks faded and I’d like to warm it up. Whenever I’ve had it coloured or had highlights/lowlights it’s really dried out my hair which is very fragile, porous and dry. I like the idea of henna but have no idea if I can easily get it to a dark brown with very little red/no red, or if that’s even possible. I also don’t know if it really is good for condition and if it’s true that it won’t dry out hair if used regularly over a long time. Are any of you henna experts?

I was going to say that not everyone gets on with the smell of henna! It has an earthy smell, something between hay and green tea. I don't mind it but a few drops of essential oil can apparently help it. Just not any oil, if you'd put peppermint it would probably sting your scalp!

'It's pure organics' is on amazon or this website, I think it also has a gallery of results somewhere www.suvarna.co.uk/itspure-organics-hair-dyes.html

I’ve sent off for a sample of the it’s pure natural brown. Thanks Smurftastic. I’ve smelled henna before when my SIL used it and like it so that’s not a problem and nothing I’d need to disguise with oil. I will do a patch test with the sample so I can check the colour and that it’s ok on my skin. Thanks so much for your help everyone. Really appreciate it.
