Any home hair dye hacks?

My mother doesnt like going to the hairdresser to get her hair done. She chooses to dye hair at home herself with a pharmacy bought kit. I think her brand of choice is nice and easy. She likes to use semi permanent hair dye.

She hates doing the job. She hates it, she hates it, she hates it with a passion. She's doing it tonight.

I told her of the spray that is available for roots and that she could nearly use that but it's permanent.

Does anyone have any recommendations or life hack? I was saying she should embrace the grey but she doesn't want that.

I mean, the choices are to dye it yourself, have it dyed for you, or not dye it. If she doesn’t like any of those, there’s not really a lot that can be done!

SuperDrug 'Colour Effects' shampoo-in dyes are very cheap (£1.99) and can help eke out the interval needed between permanent dying by covering grey roots. You just use them in place of normal shampoo.

Are you sure the spray is permanent? There seem to be lots out there that arent.

Why does she use a semi permanent dye?
Does she want you/ someone else she knows to apply a dye at home? - so she doesn't have to do it herself but still doesn't have the cost or bother of going to a professional?
No one likes doing their roots! it's just something you have to weigh up- whether it's worth it to you.
What about Clairol root touch up? It's much quicker and less hassle than whole head- though shades are limited.
I use it 2-3 times and then do whole head every approx 4/ 5 months to get the exact shade I like.
