I have dyed my hair and now my eyebrows don't match

I have had to start dyeing my hair to hide the greys. I originally started dyeing it using a cool 5 hair dye to try and match my hair, but it kept ending up too dark.

I then switched to a chocolate brown (Naturtint 6.7) and generally like the results. It's definitely a bit lighter and warmer than my original hair colour, and I have read that if you have cool skin it is best to go for a warmer hair dye to balance out your look. I think it looks like my hair used to if I got a lot of sun on it if you know what I mean.

My only qualm is that my eyebrows still match my original hair colour. I don't think it is that noticeable in the photo that I will try to upload but looks a bit odd in real life, and makes the hair dye more obvious.

What would you recommend to fix my brows? I tried Anastasia Beverly Hills pomade in chocolate brown but my eyebrows ended up looking so dark and like a Scouse brow! I would put the hair dye on my eyebrows but it says not to. Would a coloured gel work? I think it's the tone more than the shade that needs fixing.

Or would a different hair colour be better? I don't think that I realistically have time to get to a hairdresser frequently as I have a toddler and work nearly full-time so don't want to waste my time at the hairdressers, so would definitely prefer to stick to box dyes for the moment.

PS excuse rubbish hair in the photo. I am growing out a dodgy lockdown cut and haven't had a chance to straighten it yet today.

Here's my hair and eyebrows in a more natural light.

I'm fairly sure if I was looking at this photo, I would say that the eyebrows look fine. It may just be me overthinking things but in real life I definitely do think my eyebrows look quite ashy and my hair looks very warm. It's subtle, but I think it could do with some very subtle fix.

Your eyebrows look absolutely fine to me.

Russell19 · 02/06/2021 03:55

Your eyebrows are very matching to your hair. They're fine.

ToManderleyAgain · 02/06/2021 05:52

You could try using a warmer brown brow gel (eg Benefit do a good range: www.benefitcosmetics.com/en-gb/product/gimme-brow-volumizing-eyebrow-gel?product=GIMMEBROW-FULL&sku=EC18 )

But I’m unconvinced by the advice you received (ie that if you have cool skin it is best to go for a warmer hair dye). Your hair looks lovely in itself, but if it were me I’d be seeking a more ashy hair colour to suit my cool skin.

Your eyebrows look fine to me. My eyebrows don't match my natural colour at all 🤣🤣

Neither do mine - silver hair and dark brown brows! Both natural 🙄
Providora · 02/06/2021 06:20

I think your eyebrows look fine!

I disagree that cool skin needs warm hair, though. Your natural colour (or shades thereof) is designed to match your complexion and eye colour perfectly Smile

Purplecatshopaholic · 02/06/2021 06:31

Your eyebrows look perfectly fine op. Fwiw mine don’t match as I colour my hair all different shades regularly - lots of people have mismatched eyebrows naturally too.

KingPong · 02/06/2021 06:34

I have bleached, ashy, cool toned hair and dark eyebrows.
Loads of people I know don’t have matching hair and brows, I wouldn’t worry about it tbh.

dudsville · 02/06/2021 08:29

I can't see an appreciable difference between your hair and eyebrow colour.

Prettyconfused · 02/06/2021 08:34

I’d go for a cooler (ashier) hair color. Most box dyes become warmer after a few washes anyway. I’d stick with the same lightness as your current one (so a 6?) so it doesn’t go too dark.

JaceLancs · 02/06/2021 09:24

I can’t see a huge difference tbh
But finding the replies helpful as I’ve got very dark brown hair which I dye to cover greys
My hairdresser suggests a slightly lighter warmer shade which works well on my hair but does mean my brows are darker and even though it’s the fashion for some - I’m not convinced
