Opinions on the Dyson Airwrap?

I decided to treat myself to a Dyson Airwrap as they had some refurbished ones for sale a lot cheaper than the brand new ones so I thought why not.

So far I've only tried the hairdryer attachment (which I like) as it arrived before a busy week of work so I had no time to mess around with the different attachments. I'm going to play around with it this evening to try. :)

What are your thoughts on the Airwrap?

Watching with interest - where did you get the refurbished ones?

I sold mine on as just couldn't get to grips with the curling barrels, and the smoothing brushes did nothing for my fine hair and it seemed like a waste to keep it purely for the round brush attachment when a Revlon or Babylis brush did just as good a job at the fraction of the price.

Love my Dyson hairdryer but the wrap no, but I think the are like marmite and you either love it or hate it.

I love the hairdryer bit, it is so light and my hand/arm doesn't cramp up when drying my hair.

Not that keen on the curling attachments, I've watched so many videos on how to do it properly and they just won't stay as curls. I can achieve a better curl if I let my hair dry naturally (I don't really have curly hair now but in the past my hair was naturally very curly).

I've had mine for 3 years and I do like it but wouldn't rave about it.

I love mine but as I have mentioned before, I don't expect to get tight corkscrew curls - for this, an old fashioned curler is better. Airwrap gives me beautiful bouncy waves though, and it's so easy to use, as it pulls hairs around the barrel instead of blowing it all over the place.

I got one but I only paid part (part was a gift) I haven’t had time to mess with everything yet but I do really like it..... but I wouldn’t be happy if I had paid the full amount. I’m not convinced it does enough for £500 ish!!
However the quality is fantastic the way it’s light and powerful and not flimsy at all is impressive. Maybe as I learn how all of the parts work I might start to think it’s worth the full amount?

Directly from Dyson (www.dyson.co.uk/dyson-outlet#shop-all-refurbished). It seems in perfect condition and brand new as far as I can see and comes with 1 year warranty so I'm pretty happy.

I definitely love the hairdryer part already. It is so much lighter than my current hairdryer and even on the highest heat setting doesn't burn my scalp like my current hairdryer does but the lower temperature doesn't seem to increase drying time.

I've watched some Youtube videos on how to use the curling attachments so I'll try those tonight.

I do also have a Revlon One Step but I've noticed a lot of hair breakage since starting to use it which is sad as I love how it makes my hair look. I'm hoping the Dyson is better for your hair as it's at a lower temperature? I have annoyingly frizzy hair that needs heat styling to tame it.

I love it. I have thick hair that turns into a giant frizz with a normal hairdryer and for the first time ever I have gorgeous hair all the time. My hair does easily holds a curl though. For everyday I use the round brush and then just do the front sections with the small barrels. My hair is also much healthier as I never have to use my hair straighteners to tame it anymore. I get so many comments on it. For me it was worth every penny.

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 31/05/2021 17:32

09i5ji5 thank you for the link!

I absolute love mine. I usually have shoulder length hair as I’m not very talented when it comes to styling, but I’ve grown it now. The airwrap makes it so much easier to get a nice style. And my hair looks so much better now I don’t use straighteners on it! I did get the long barrel complete set so there’s 2 barrel sizes for curls and waves

Happyhome21 · 01/06/2021 21:31

I really like it
My hair is naturally wavy

It holds the curl and when my hair has gone crazy in the rain
I can quickly defrizz it
It does take a bit of practice but when you do it’s very wuivk

Happyhome21 · 01/06/2021 21:31

Quick

09i5ji5 · 01/06/2021 21:58

I tried the two curling attachments. I really like the result, it took around 15 minutes for my hair to go from wet to dry and bouncy. The only issue is I used it quickly before just heading out on a casual dog walk so my hair looked a little too good for just a dog walk. Wink

I have a few hair tools already (Revlon One Step, Babyliss Big Hair, Ghd Rise) and this is the first product that has given me a really bouncy curled blow dry look. I found my other hair tools I bought to try and achieve the elusive fake blow dry look give me a straight hairstyle with slightly rounded ends whereas this gives a properly curled bouncy look. The best thing was there was no tugging of my hair like I got with the Revlon One Step and Babyliss Big Hair.

My only complaint is I found it kind of annoying having to turn it off after every curl to release the hair but that can't be helped and isn't a big deal.

I did also have to straighten my baby hairs around my hairline as they are curly/frizzy but that's something I have to do no matter what hair tool I use.

Imm intrigued. Round here there are an awful lot “as new” being sold on Facebook for silly money so clearly some people are disappointed.

Yellow85 · 01/06/2021 22:03

@09i5ji5 you defo get used to it. I’m in the habit of switching the heat to cool for a few second every curl too - def helps set them. That and a good salt spray!
