Balloon-knot mouth - can anything be done?

As the title suggests I've fine lines around my mouth (smokers lines although I don't) and general dropping. Can anything be done? Electric current, dermabrasion, therm, light? Also with all of these tightening procedures how do you know it won't contract downwards from the lower lids, making one more bloodhoundish? This is my main concern. Also not ongoing salon based treatments - not enough time, but I'd be grateful for some advice

Pretty sure that you can get it addressed with fillers, Botox, that kind of thing. Your best bet is to speak to a surgeon or someone medically trained who offers these services. They will know exactly what is causing your 'issues' and how to address them.

Google Botox for down turned mouth.

Thanks but not keen on fillers or Botox (repetitive trips to clinic) more thinking of the thermolift or something like that. Anyone any experience of such a thing?

Advice needed! NuFace or Foreo? http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/styleandd_beauty/4242690-advice-needed-nuface-or-foreo

I'm late 30s did used to smoke and have a downturn. I've been using a facial peel and I'm working my way up the retinol and making sure I use spf every day. This is just with a view to not letting it get worse. I'd also be interested in treatments that aren't Botox or fillers. Tempted for an led mask for collagen production.

honeybuns007 · 26/05/2021 22:33

OP, anything you do will require further visits to a clinic. At least fillers would be only yearly. Botox maybe 4 monthly. Unless you have a full fave lift, nothing is permanent. Not sure what sort of thing you are imagining

prawnmocktail · 27/05/2021 00:19

I got a non-surgical lip lift for this and it worked quite well. Only thing was they then said they wouldn't put filler in my nose to mouth lines as it would be too much volume or something. The lift filler can last for over a year or maybe a good bit longer though and you might even still be able to get permanent filler in a few select clinics although I think they're fazing that out given there's nothing that can be done if you don't like the results.

You could also just try a thick lipstick applied well (Maybelline matte inks are amazing for that). I find just wearing lipstick makes me "hold" my face differently which improves the sag a bit...

Folicky · 27/05/2021 07:52

Prawnmocktail that is fascinating about the lipstick

JaneJeffer thank you. Had a look on Amazon for one of the Foreo Bears
But there weren't many reviews on there. There was for the mini but just about his gentle it was and joe soft it made their skin feel. Do you know if it works?

Facial exercises would help with the drooping.

FOREO Bear and NuFace are both leading brands. I use both (stupid I know but I really wasn't sure which to get). No idea if they do anything. If they do, it's very subtle and would only make the smallest improvement. Online stores like Feel Unique and a look Fantastic often run 20% off everything sales.

What sort of exercises? I am starting to get a downturned mouth and hate it!

I like the idea of these exercises as it gives me the control and I can work with the discipline of that which seems important to me...,,, but some words of encouragement would be great, if you have them that is. Have you found the exercises to be effective?

Sorry, been at work. Google Eva Fraser for facial exercises. Have a look at her interview on This Morning with Eamon & Ruth. I believe she has since passed away (?) but she was in her mid 80s.

Lots of before and after photos elsewhere on the internet.
