Maternity Style, or lack of

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and so far because the weather has been shite most of the time I've had a standard uniform of black maternity leggings with a long top or baggy jumper, or slim fit maternity jeans and a peplum/smock style top. Usual jackets or coats on top which still fit if I don't do them up lol. Nothing particularly fashionable but it's been fine as I WFH and obv lockdown has meant rarely going out.

Now there's finally supposed to be a summer heatwave on the way and I'm trying to see as many people as possible (safely of course and mainly outdoors) I'd like a few summery dresses, but don't want to spend too much as they'll only be worn for a few weeks unless I can make use of them after. However I've lost track of how many different style dresses I've ordered and nothing suits me.

I'm 5'3, size 8 pre-pregnancy and a very slim frame ie narrow shoulders, flat bum, no boobs, any excess weight is carried around my tummy/love handles. Basically this hasn't changed throughout pregnancy, I've only really put weight on my belly and face. Those fitted midi dresses don't suit me as proportions look all wrong due to no curves. Smock dresses just make me look really overweight as opposed to pregnant. Those floaty midi dresses with the fussy shoulders and square necklines just don't suit me. Basically, I just can't find anything I feel good in. I've tried non-maternity as well as maternity and I'm bloody fed up! Any advice?

For reference I'm 32 but look a bit younger. And I don't want dungarees so please don't suggest that Grin

How about a wrap dress? They should work postpartum too as you could just wrap them in tighter.

At your stage of pregnancy I think I'd be looking on ebay for second hand maternity dresses. If you want something fitted, look at isabella oliver and seraphine.

@SummaLuvin I do like a good wrap dress but the wrap bit has to sit in exactly the right place otherwise I look really dumpy (even pre-pregnancy). I probably need to persevere a bit more, I just hate the faff of shopping online and returning to the post office, as even though shops are open very few have maternity wear in store any more!

@BlairWaldorfLovesShopping never really ventured into secondhand clothes shopping but maybe it's now time! I'll check out ebay.

I was going to say exactly this- the Seraphine knot front dresses in particular are comfy and flattering. I have about half a dozen, all from eBay, in different colours and styles- long sleeve, 3/4 sleeve, cap sleeve, knee length and maxi!

@AngeloMysterioso I had one of these (from ebay!) Definitely only for the late stages though as they make you look even more pregnant than you are Grin
