Frizzy, flyaway hair!

Can anyone recommend products for very thick, naturally curly, frizzy hair that is straightened (only way to control it!) which is very flyaway please? I've tried products from Frizz ease which havent helped, I'm on a budget so not too expensive please!

Have you tried drying your hair in a microfibre towel/turban? I have ordered one recently as have heard it is good for frizzy hair but not used it yet so can’t comment yet.

Also you can give this a tryZ

Thank you for the replies MissPilly, I haven't tried the microfibre towel but will check it out. Also the hair finishing stick (I haven't seen that before).

I use wax, but I'm not totally satisfied with the result. My hair is fine, but frizzy and flyaway with errant baby hairs.

I use wax too sometimes but find it doesn't stop it going flyaway once I'm outside!

Have you tried a serum? It coats the hair to stop it being fly away
I've got fine hair so go for one without silicone- I like The Body Shop grapefruit one and you only need a little bit to stop it looking greasy.

Nightswimmer80 · 30/05/2021 13:15

No I haven't, would the body shop one be suitable for my hair type?

Innoluxe Elixir. It's about 20 ish pounds.
I have fine wavy long hair and I use it every day to reduce Frizz and repair the hair. A couple of drops are sufficient.

@Nightswimmer80
I think it would be suitable - it says for dull/frizzy hair and I think it was £7 so worth a punt?
Piccy attached.

Thanks Fferny1, that looks good but too pricey for me I'm afraid.

Thanks DuckyMcDuck, I'll definitely check that out, I haven't been in Body shop for years!

I've started using the Nuxe oil on my hair. Less than you think you need, otherwise it ends up kind of wet, ironically since it claims to be a dry oil. It leaves my hair feeling so soft.

Revlon Uniq1 is a miracle worker

L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil is a game changer. Currently £6.50 (was £10) in Morrisons so worth a punt.

HomeSliceKnowsBest · 01/06/2021 06:23

Sorry, should add my hair is fine, prone to frizz and on the greasy side. This oil is light and truly is non greasy unlike many which claim to be so but aren't.

homemadefries · 01/06/2021 07:06

Op! You need to back to basics.

I have naturally wavy/curly dry and frizzy hair but I've managed to make it shiny and manageable over the last few months. My best advice is this:

Absolute most important thing is this: no sls shampoo (it's drying and dry hair is frizzy hair)
Then no silicone in your shampoo or conditioner (silicone coats the hair and builds up making it dry and brittle because the hair can't grab ambient moisture, you also need sls to remove silicone which js a massive no).

This will take a few weeks to get used to.

A silk pillowcase is a god send. Muslins for drying hair and definitely no rubbing dry!

Google 'protein/moisture balance' and work yours out.

Do olaplex treatments every so often.

Thanks everyone for taking the time and trouble to reply, I think I've got enough suggestions to be going on with now and will definitely check several out Smile
