Fringe or not to fringe?!

I currently don’t have a fringe, just one length hair, around shoulder length.

Haven’t had a fringe for about 2 years, maybe longer! I’m toying with the idea of having a long fringe cut in, I’m just a bit bored of my current look & looking back at old pics I look ‘fresher’ with a fringe, but I am reluctant as I have such a round face, full chubby cheeks and wear glasses!

I suppose I look fresher on the pics because they are exactly that, old photos, I was younger, but can a fringe make you look younger? I’m not talking a full straight across fringe, I was thinking of side fringe, like curtain fringe, like these pictures, but then these women have a great face shapes!

I reckon go for it. That kind of fringe is not full on and you could always brush it back if you take against it!

I think fringes make older women look even older .
It’s like a uniform of shoulder length dyed blonde hair with a fringe to hide the wrinkles .

I love 'curtain' fringes/bangs! Just hard to get a hairdresser to cut it nicely i find

I thought that was you at first OP ! I love this type of fringe but agree with previous poster it’s really hard to get a hair dresser to do them properly. Not sure why as must be easy. Bring these pics maybe.

I keep thinking about having a fringe cut (my hair is just below my shoulders and has a wave )
The hairdresser said they need styling every day (not for me then)
I think it would go all haywire

I wouldnt have a heavy curtain fringe , itd get in my face and annoy me .

when I was growing out my Pixie cut (which I had after a disasterous layered cut with a fringe Blush ) I kept thinking "My aim is a one length ,no layers , swishy bob that I can tie back or wear loose...." which is what I have .

You need to ask for shorter layers around the face that are blended into your normal hair. A "fringe-but-not-a-fringe"

This was me circa 2019. The short layers effortlessly blend into my usual cut. My hairdresser was brilliant at doing this and now she has gone on maternity leave during lockdown. My new hairdresser can't even begin t0 fathom what I'm asking for sob Sad 😭

Totally disagree! I cut in a very thick, blunt fringe just before lockdown (I was bored!) I'm 11 years older than my dh and people now think I'm the younger one Grin I'm 50 and people look genuinely shocked when I tell them, this didn't happen pre fringe!

Only if you have thick hair! I have fine hair and a disastrous fringe a few years ago. The fringe took so much volume from my hair it looked more fine than ever.
