Where are you shopping?

I had a massive clear out of all the things that don’t fit, and that I don’t wear last weekend and got myself all excited about a new wardrobe.

I literally can not find a single thing in shops that fits my lifestyle and isn’t aimed at 12 year olds wanting to wear cropped tops.

My main ‘go to’ in terms of style would be skinny jeans, trainers and some sort of top with a leather jacket, or a long/midi dress with sleeves and a pair of chunky studded sandals.

I don’t think I could make something like Reiss work for me - it feels too grown up/smart and I’m not cool or skinny enough for All Saints as much as I’d love to be 😂

Anyone relating and want to share where they’re shopping or what they’re buying?

I'm 40s, 5ft 6, and a 10, and I mainly shop in:

Cos - trousers
Whistles - jeans (I wear a more straight or barrel style though, not sure how their skinny jeans are)
Arket - cardigans
Other Stories - jumpers/knitwear
Zara/Topshop/formerly Warehouse - midi-dresses and skirts
Joanie - t-shirts
Levi's - also jeans. I really like 501s at the moment.

I've been working from home since last March and my daily uniform at the moment is jeans, t-shirt, cardigan, and trainers. I really want it to be midi-dress and bare legs weather! When I went to work I wore more short dresses and skirts with opaque tights, and generally bought those in Warehouse, plus a lot of culottes/cropped wide leg trousers.

I'm quite hippy with a small waist so tend to spend more on "bottom" things which I know will fit my shape well rather than be poking and pulling about at cheap trousers that gape or pinch.

I prefer independent boutiques for tops, dresses and accessories. They're unique compared to what's on the high street. They have gorgeous jackets and trousers as well, but generally do cost more and I alternate between many jackets and trousers do tend to splurge less on those.

I also like Oliver Bonas although find their stuff hit and miss and also runs very large. There is lots in there at the moment I like.

Zara - not much I like right now though
& Other Stories
H&M
M&S has the occasional good find too

I've found that Cos and Arket don't suit my shape at all. They're quite oversized - at least they were the last time I went in.

Thinking about my wardrobe which is quite extensive I buy from a wide range of shops. There is never one I am super loyal to where I buy entire outfits from. Just pieces I match between stores

Very similar to @Judystilldreamsofhorses but also Uniqlo for basics such as vests and Ts and more recently Lucy and Yak (no I’m not a bot) for corduroy dungarees

Late 40s, 5’ 6, an 8-10. I’m not a Reiss fan either! Currently wearing a Baukjen jersey dress (from the days when they did great jersey dresses!). Recently got some combats from Jaki - decent quality and easy to wear (fabric pulls though, if you have a pet with claws, lol). And a cracking top from Mimi’s Edit. I also love Anthropologie (the sale!) John Lewis is still a Go To for me too - old habits die hard, and there is a good range there

Your description sounds very All Saints. Five years ago when I was more into fashion, I shopped at Maje, Sandro, Kooples - very French, chic, high quality and young. Nowadays I shop a lot less, and only really get staples I can mix and match with, from the likes of COS, Uniqlo, Muji.

Thanks... some great ideas to browse!

I’m early/mid 30s forgot to say that!

I love the idea of Kooples and the other French brand that’s name complete eludes me right now... but similar vibe... but the realist in me knows it doesn’t suit my curvy shape!

Following with interest. I’m also in my early 30s and in need of inspiration.
Uniqlo for basics.
I’ve just bought a couple of midi dresses from monsoon (sale).. I’ve never shopped there before but they had some nice ones.

Oliver Bonas for trousers if you've got a waist. Ignore all the terrible flowery dresses and go straight for the trousers!
