Have you had tear trough filler?

If so do you like it?
Did you have much bruising?
How long did it last? Did it just gradually go back to the way it was before when wearing off?
Or is there another alternative that would work as good?
Looking at microdermabrasion and different peels too.
I only want a subtle change as i have dark lines under my eyes that are tear troughs due to age and weight loss.
Want to feel confident with no make up on and I'm trowling on the under eye concealer these days!

I haven't, but am interested in peels. What have you been looking at?

Treacletoots · 17/05/2021 20:09

Yes. I treated myself for Christmas. It was the best money I've ever spent.

Goodbye eye bags, goodbye fine lines and now I don't even need concealer.

No bruising or swelling and actually no pain either! I also had a bit of filler in the cheek and that did sting but the tear trough, nothing!

Going for a consultation tomorrow, I like the idea of non invasive. Im interested in micro needling which stimulates collagen and tightens, also the plasma under eye (aka vampire facial) or the medical grade chemical peel for under eye. Open to fillers too will wait and see what my consultation says and what would work best for my skin.

Did yours sit fine straight away? I'm nervous about them going lumpy. Are the results instant?

Instant and no lumps. Couldn't fault them. I did however really research the clinic before choosing one who was a specialist. It cost double what you can get it done on cheaper nurse led clinics but honestly, it's not worth the risk!

Yes I did, twice.

If so do you like it?
Yes, but more on the 1st than the 2nd time. I also have a small amount of filler on my cheek and on the 2nd time I think the doctor injected higher on my cheek, so the lateral side of my undereye area ended up looking more hollow than the inner part (near the nose). It’s not bad and I’m sure people don’t notice, but depending on the lighting I notice it and I will ask him to do it differently next time (it could be doing less filler on the cheekbone area, or more filler on the lateral part of the tear trough).

Did you have much bruising?
Not really, just tiny dots where the needle went in.

How long did it last?
About 1 year.

Did it just gradually go back to the way it was before when wearing off?
Yes it’s definitely gradual. I can’t tell when it really wore off - I just noticed that around 1 year after the injections my cheek were back to their usual flatness and I looked more tired (combined effect of wearing off of cheek and tear trough filler).

Or is there another alternative that would work as good?
I’m not sure - it depends on your situation. If you go to a good practitioner they will be able to advise whether this is likely to give you the results you are expecting.

So mine apparently aren't tear troughs but flat cheeks, so trying the wow facial as she said filler would look lumpy on me as my face is thin (lost alot of weight over last few years)

Filler only looks lumpy if it's done badly! Can't believe you were told that.

Treacletoots · 18/05/2021 18:40

Hmm. I'd be looking for another consultation. I really researched before choosing a consultant. There are so many therapists around who have just done a course or two.

Pick a doctor. You'll pay a lot more for it, but will not regret it.
