Does the perfect long lasting foundation, for mature skin, exist

I'm in my late 40s and need a foundation that will last all day. I'm fed up of my makeup coming off on my mask and disappearing after lunchtime

Can you recommend what you use, would like it to have a natural, dewy finish, not too matte

Try putting any foundation that you use over face powder! Mine stays on all day if I powder my face first and then apply foundation and then I lightly dust my nose only.

I find that face powder really dries my skin, I've thrown all mine away as they sucked all the moisture out of my skin 🙁

Bobbi Brown skin king wear stays put all day for me. My skin is on the drier side. I love it, it's very natural but good coverage

*king wear not king!

Girlintheframe · 15/05/2021 22:13

LONG 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I got a sample of the Bobbi Brown and wasn't sure I liked it, but it was a tiny sample as they had run out of it

Is it buildable?

I'm a good few years older than you and wear DoubleWear, it stays on all day and doesn't dry my skin or look mask like.

You have to look at your skincare routine first and treat any dehydration, once that's sorted then a heavier foundation and a dusting of powder really doesn't cause dryness issues.

Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue. Long wear and fairly dewy. I absolutely love it. The counter will give you a massive sample if you ask.

However - it’s a huge ask to expect foundation to last through wearing a face mask.

The absolute perfect foundation for you exists, chosen to match your skin tone perfectly and in the perfect texture, worth a day trip to London

I got a sample and am a bit undecided on it. Main issue being palest shade is too pale and Ecru is much darker. I felt it looked rather 'moist' when wearing it. It's very similar to Boots Hyaluronist (sp) which is a mere £15.

OP- the issue is that long wear and mature skin don't often get on too well. I use B Brown Skin Foundation which is buildable, but their long wear for me was too matte and ageing- but I've got a few years on you!

Clinique have a new full cover one out Even Better something or other- and Clarins foundations are good too.

Yes it's buildable. I would say it's medium coverage but then I add more where I need it. It feels very lightweight on and doesn't have a mask appearance the way some foundations do. If your able to get into a store you could get a decent size sample to try.

Lancome teint idole is lovely and long lasting, and good for dry skin.

Dior Forever Glow
Nars Sheer Glow
Giorgio Armani luminous silk

Estee Lauder Double Wear doesn't budge at all. However make sure your skin is very well moisturised first. If you don't need such high coverage or want a lighter finish for summer then DW light is very good as well.
