Comfy bra help needed please

I have 4 Debenhams t-shirt bras, size 36H that I’ve had for probably 2 years. They have started rubbing under my boobs on my rib cage and leaving welts. I do have a condition that means my skin can react to tight straps/bands/cuffs but this has happened for about 3 months now. It is painful. So I need new bras.

I’m in Cornwall. The nearest Bravissimo is in Bath or Cardiff so about 4 hours drive away. The nearest John Lewis is in Exeter - 2ish hours drive away.

I tried the M&S bralettes as recommended on here but the band is too big to give me the cup size so it moves and creates a monoboob.

I have super duper sports bra but if I wear it all day instead of just for an hour of exercise, my shoulders hurt.

I’ve read about Molke on here and will have a measure later as I’m wondering if they might be softer/‘kinder’ to my stupid reactive skin Sad.

Any other recommendations please?

And I realise I’ve started this on a Friday night so might be a pervy bra troll but it’s actually because I’m sat here in a really uncomfortable bra watching shite telly.

trouble with Molke is that their seams are very thick, so if your skin reacts, you might have issues. My solution is to wear them inside out, so the smooth side is against the skin.

Oh no, but good to have the heads up, thank you @KatharinaRosalie. I really feel quite fed up about what to do next. Which is daft really.Blush

Have you tried these ?
I saw it in store and looked really soft and comfy. I take a 30 back though so couldn’t try it

@Thighdentitycrisis that does look comfy - thankfully there are lots of M&S locally so I can go and give it a try! I tend to forget to look at M&S normally as their underwired bras just didn’t seem to fit right. Thank you

I like molke-they are v comfortable but tbh, that’s are not great under summer clothes as they have pretty thick straps.

You don’t need to be near a bravissimo though-order a few things and try them on; it’s free returns. The live chat is excellent for sizing questions as well.

Have you tried the m&s 'sumptuously soft' ones? I find them very comfortable. Just don't take their fitting advice!

DutchMummy88 · 15/05/2021 01:37

Uniqlo light weight padded bras 🙌🙌🙌
I hate wearing bras but these are just so comfy and fit just right

PandemicPalava · 15/05/2021 01:47

I wear Panache Tango and love them. They're heavy duty but so supportive. Bravissimo sometimes have a sale on random colours. I am a 36JJ and don't wear anything else (although I do need to find a T-shirt bra as these are patterned)

Morning - some fab suggestions that I’ll follow up on. I’ll try the bravissimo chat. It’s daft as I’m a 47 year old woman who has worn bras for the past 35ish years so why do I feel I need advice?!

But I have lost weight and changed shape and I think just have the fear of being one of those middle aged women in need of a good bra intervention Grin

I have got a dreaded M&S bra fitting this afternoon, if only to see what their range is! It’s a start point at least!

Molke has a new “flexisize” bra with much thinner straps. They have hooks and eyes, rather than having to go over the head, which is better for my misbehaving shoulders. My skin also lacks integrity so I can’t wear anything too tight, let alone wires, without, quite frankly, developing holes in my boobs 😭 so I’ve been wearing original Molke for years and I have two of these new bras and they’re pretty good. The level of uplift isn’t as good as you’d get with a wired bra, but no mono boob or anything like that. I hope that helps 😊

Batinahat · 15/05/2021 10:19

I have recently bought and am loving the Bravissimo Nova bra. I had tried some other comfy lounge type bras previously which started comfy but then had the mono-boob issue due to no wiring to keep the boobs apart. The Nova worked brilliantly for me as the design helps to keep separation. I was able to go to a local branch to be fitted but the chat and video fittings are an option and there is a good returns policy too.

Measure yourself and get recommendations using the Reddit abrathatfits guide, here. Buy a few from somewhere that'll let you return them if they don't fit and once you find the brand and style that works for you you can buy previous season's styles from eBay, Belle Lingerie, Brastop or other clearance places.

I have those m&s bras, they are extremely comfortable so I've bought loads of them! I got a Molke too and while I was Ok, it rubbed on the band and I don't like the full back coverage.

StarlightLady · 15/05/2021 11:46

I used to love the Tango, mentioned earlier, and if you struck while the iron was hot you could get a good selection of colours (l don't do beige or white) but only available for a limited period.

But 2 recent Tango purchases had their underwire pop out after just a few months, which makes me wonder about the present quality. One underwire even went through my top when l was wearing it in its escape bid too.
