Micro needling for sagging jaw/face? Any experiences?

Has anyone tried micro-needling for sagging jowls? My jawline is rapidly heading south and something must be done. Am looking into options, but don't want anything too invasive just now. It's not yet at the point where it's flapping in the breeze so am hoping to address it before it reaches that point.

There's a place near me that offers micro-needling, along with threading and other ways to faff with your face, so am considering my options. Also, what about those little derma rollers you can get to lightly puncture your own face?

Any assistance gratefully received by me and my jiggly chin.

Or anything else that works on sagging jowls???

Don't want to seem desperate, like...

Have a look at this video @NonsensicalHair I was genuinely impressed with the results she got!

I had Morpheus8 microneedling and it really hasn't made a bit of difference. Next stop facelift.

OP please look up Gin Amber and Penny Smith (think it's PennSmith.Skincare) on Youtube. They are the absolute queens of the micro needling world and you will learn so much

I had ipo threads and cogs, they worked brilliant,y

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 15/05/2021 16:32

@RonaldMcDonald
I am so tempted by the thread lift, can I ask about the downtime, how long did it take to recover? Did it hurt I'm a wimp, but im fine with filler and botox.

Workinghardeveryday · 15/05/2021 16:59

Threads don’t hurt, it’s the thought of it more than anything honestly! I would try threads

schmalex · 15/05/2021 17:32

Those rollers you buy are nothing like proper microneedling at a salon. I think you could really damage your skin with them if you're not careful.
I love microneedling but I think it is more preventative. It also makes my face red for about 3 days afterwards and you have to be very careful and use SPF (although you should be doing that anyway!)

NonsensicalHair · 16/05/2021 13:15

Thanks for your replies, I will look into the threading a bit more, though I'm nervous about that. @RonaldMcDonald, how do they numb your face? Is it by an injection?

They used a numbing cream
It was honestly not painful

stealingbeauty · 18/05/2021 14:38

I had dermarolling with a doctor in London and it honestly made no difference to my skin. It was for acne scarring. I also used to do my own dermarolling at home and it made no difference either. Waste of time and money - I’d rather have a facelift!

stealingbeauty · 18/05/2021 14:39

Forgot to say, they smear numbing cream over your face thickly and cover with cling film or something. Then I think I was left for 30 mins or so for my face to become numb. The needling didn’t hurt at all.

RonaldMcDonald · 20/05/2021 02:25

I had laser for acne scarring, dermabrasion, chemical peels and then micro needling
Plus azelic acid. That worked brilliantly. All in all it felt as though I had deeper scars than skin at some points
Now you cannot see it - it cost thousands all in and a hideously concerted effort
Daughter ,12, is already on tret for her acne and fingers crossed will never face the same

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 20/05/2021 20:36

Thank for the advice!!! I might go for the threads!!!

NonsensicalHair · 20/05/2021 21:40

I had micro needling today, first session, but on my hands. It felt fine, but I'm not convinced my hands look any different! I have another session booked in a couple of weeks, so will assess then, but unless they look better in the next few days I don't reckon it's a treatment that I'll be continuing with. I figured I had to try as otherwise I'd be constantly wondering!

Are you menopausal? We lose 30% of our collagen at menopause so our faces sag.

Red light led stimulates collagen, you can buy the masks online.

NonsensicalHair · 21/05/2021 11:30

@Fluffycloudland77 - I'm perimenopausal, so not yet gone through it but almost certainly approaching. My skin has always been dry but yes, last couple of years it's got worse. Am hoping the needling will boost collagen production and improve overall appearance.

Have heard of red LED masks, something else for my list Grin

You’ll find a fab thread on here about a poster who had a mini facelift. She posted pics throughout. The results were astounding.
