Eyeliner to cover up microblading

octopusrus · 12/05/2021 13:42

My microblading from 4 years ago has faded to a crappy red/brown colour and I don't want to get it redone as I'll be faced with the same problem in a few years!

Can anyone recommend a really long lasting eyeliner which is good for covering colour like this? I have tried Wunderbrow but it was a bit too 'painty' for me.

Argh how many years will this last for!!!

The simple answer is to get the micro blading redone. I get mine done every three years and have never had a reddy brown Mark left. Covering it up sounds like it would look terrible.

I know but I don't want to get it redone as I'll be eventually faced with being an old lady with a rather pale face and dark brown eyebrows which don't fit!
So I am trying to stick it out seeing as it's already been 4 years....

I am an old lady and my tattooed brows look great!

octopusrus · 12/05/2021 18:39

The rimmel eyebrow pencil (I don't know why I said eyeliner ConfusedConfused) I'm currently using covers it up really well as it's quite pale now, but I just want something a bit longer lasting and or waterproof?

Would Glossier Boy Brow work? My eyebrows are not microbladed but I do love this stuff.

octopusrus · 12/05/2021 19:26

I've seen some good reviews of that, does it last quite a long time?

I had same problem as you. They've now faded to nothing but it took time.

I used a kat von d liquid liner, I can't remember the name tho sorry! The brush tip was super thin and great for mimicking hair strokes. It also stayed alllllll day

LettyLoman · 12/05/2021 19:43

I was coming on here to suggest Rimmel but can see your update. I've a cupboard full of eyebrow wonders and I still always resort to Rimmel. I do also dye my brows at home due to blonde/greys.

Sisisimone · 12/05/2021 20:02

Benefit are the best for brow pencils. Have never found anything better than precisely my brow. Gimme brow also brilliant

octopusrus · 12/05/2021 20:55

Thank you so much for the recommendations, now the Benefit desks etc are back open I guess I could go and have a look.

The Rimmel does work v well and is a great colour but I'm just a bit worried about the summer and when I've been running and sweaty etc so was hoping for one which definitely won't budge.

Qwertyguerty can you recall how long it took? Has it actually totally disappeared? Did you use any products or anything? Ive been using pixi glow which I usually use on my face anyway and I'm sure that's helped a bit to fade.
I've never tried any Kat von D products so will research, thank you.

Benefit good proof or microfiing pencil are brilliant. Gimme Brow is also great but I don't think it'll give you enough coverage yet.

ItsNotMeOfficer · 12/05/2021 21:10

Glossier Brow Flick! You can do super fine hair strokes with it

tillytoodles1 · 12/05/2021 21:16

I love my microblading and have it topped up once a year. I have very thin eyebrows and I haven't had mine done for fifteen months due to lockdown and they're still brown, just faded slightly.

Cailleach1 · 13/05/2021 10:30

Nyx professional make up micro brow pencil (around 6 shades) is good. Cruelty free also. Ten pounds. Cult Beauty have them.

Cailleach1 · 13/05/2021 10:32

Just to add that Ash Brown is good. No red tones.

PutOnAHappyFace · 13/05/2021 10:33

I have red scaring that drives me insane, I wish I was warned how bad it could be. Haven't been able to get them redone due to TTC and pregnancy so I've tried all kinds. I tint with Just for men beard tint and also found a Revlon double ended pencil/gel has been good for quick touch up and covers the discolouration.

Readyorknot · 13/05/2021 12:40

My sil's brows have gone a red/brown colour a few years after microblading. Is this a thing then? I thought she was just unlucky.

Dinnertime22 · 13/05/2021 14:44

This has put me off getting mine done now.

Marmaladegin · 13/05/2021 21:34

Urban decay brow blade. Waterproof and excellent

buckeejit · 13/05/2021 21:37

My 4 year old microblading is orange too! I've booked to get it redone though as I need the darker without the extra time in the morn.

However I adopted a tip from Nadine Baggott & fill in with a grey eyeshadow -it's ancient but it's copperplate by Mac. Like it more than any other pencil I've used

GreyHare · 13/05/2021 22:15

My eyebrows (micro blading) faded to a reddish colour the first time, I had it redone and had an ashier tone so they have now faded to lighter smudgy light brown, they need redoing but my lady is so overbooked so I just fill in with a Benefit Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil, it tends to stay put pretty well and can cope with a windy rainy dog walk without budging.

Qwertyguerty · 15/05/2021 06:55

Probably 4 years, no touch ups, just got it done once.

Looked real good at first, a very dark brown but went almost copper red after the first year which is when they recommend a touch up but I'd had my DD by then and simply couldn't be arsed.

I hid it by using eyeliner to hover some of the areas or powder if I was in a rush and it worked just fine, as it faded I used less and less

Iceniii · 15/05/2021 09:00

I was going to come on and ask if anyone had regretted getting microblading done, as was planning on booking a consultation. I never thought of this scenario, both the fading colour and what happens when you age. Rethinking.
