Tear trough fillers

I am just wondering if anyone has had this procedure, and if so, was it successful and safe? My doctor who I see for botox and dermal fillers said he would not touch this area, and he is an advanced practitioner/trainer. I have seen somewhere in Harley Street that offers this but I am just a bit worried based on my doctor's opinion. Does anyone know whether this is safe and effective? Thanks

I don't need filler (yet) as I'm young-ish still but I have a couple of friends that have had tear trough done with no ill effects.

@alabaster11 Thanks that is useful to know

I have had it three times. First time loved it. A year later went to a different doctor and ended up with tyndall effect, which is where it's injected too superficially and causes a blueish tinge. I waited a year, but it still hadn't gone away, so had it dissolved then 2 weeks later redone (with the first doctor).
It's definitely a more tricky area. Needs to be a thin filler and has to be injected at the right level. Just make sure you research who you go with and see their before and afters of tear trough filler. I'd only go to someone who uses teosyal redensity 2 for tear troughs

Thanks @Villanelle17 I saw a groupon offer but was quite wary about taking it up as it is such a delicate area. Your post has made me realise that I don't know enough about it to make an informed decision yet. I hope that your revision has been a success? Do you mind me asking what it costs and which area you are in? I am in the Greater London area. I wonder if an eyelid lift is a better overall procedure now.

I've had it and it was a waste of money for me. I had bags rather than dark circles so in hindsight it was never going to work. Since covid, working from home & an extra hour in bed seems to have sorted them out anyway.

My sister had it done to correct hereditary bags/dark circles before her wedding. It was done by a highly regarded specialist clinic (not in UK unfortunately) and it looked absolutely amazing. I wish I could post a photo! I’m now looking at having it done in the future.

Definitely go to a well rated clinic with specialist injectors - dermatologists generally being the gold standard. They’ll be able to evaluate your whole face and tell you what procedure will give you the results you’re looking for!
