Foot creams - help!

I run, and am on my feet a lot at work, and my feet are in a bad way. More like hooves.... very dry and with some peeling skin.

I use a pumice stone daily, and have been using Flexitol but I don’t like the smell or the consistency.

Can anyone recommend a good foot cream please?

I really like the soap & glory one
Has a gorgeous peppermint smell
I think it's called Heel Genius
You can put it on all over your feet not just heels

I’ve heard good things about Footner. It’s not a cream, but looks to be helpful for dry skin. I’ve ordered it, so we’ll see...

I like the Boots green one in a jar, it’s relatively cheap and doesn’t leave your feet feeling like they’ve been dunked in pva glue.

Eucerin 10% urea cream for feet is the biz. Slather on your hooves at night and enjoy soft feet next morning Smile

Margaret Dabbs. I'm t2 diabetic and have crocodile skin on my feet. Only thing that's ever worked on me.

Sunshine, which Margaret Dabbs do you use? There appears to be cream/lotion/mousse?

Another recommendation for Eucerin - it has worked wonders on my horrendously dry feet complete with cracked heels

I've tried many brands from the costly Margaret Dabbs, Loccitane etc to Boots own. My favourite that I always return to for a SOS rescue is 'CCS Heel Balm'. Not their Foot cream. You need the CCS HEEL balm - it has a higher Urea content.
You do need to keep pumicing (almost) daily though to slough off the dead cells. Once feet are as you wish, daily maintenance is key with any foot cream with a lower Urea in it. Or just use the Heel balm a few times a week as needed.
Another plus is it doesn't have a smell like Flexitol but I do find it can make my toes sweaty, so I stick to just the heels with it. If you want a cream that you can rub between the toes then the Margaret Dabbs Foot lotion is really nice , but I only use that once the CCS Heel balm has worked it's magic.

For WaitingInVain's Margaret Dabbs question. Perhaps I can help a little.

Margaret Dabbs has a dizzying amount of foot products so I can see why you're asking.

The mouse is the 'Exfoliating Foot Mousse'. It's the most grainy foot scrub I've ever tried (in a good way like you're at the beach), it can come in handy to exfoliate between and around the toes. You just need a tiny amount. But I find a pumice stone or a footfile does a better job for my heels.

The 'Intesive Hydrating Foot Lotion' is the one I mentioned previously that is nice to rub into the whole feet and toes for maintenance. I often use it as a hand cream too!

The 'Foot Hygiene Cream' has a deceptive name, it actually feels and smells more like a medicinal balm. It's quite greasy so best used at night with bedsocks!

Please note that as a brand Margaret Dabbs is cruelty free but not 100% vegan.

Her website is on the pricey side. QVC runs special offers throughout the year which are worth watching out for and they have a money back guarantee for 30 days (even though you end up paying for postage both ways). I think currently it's been extended to 60 days due to Covid. Worth a look if you're interested in trying the brand.

Try a Newton’s sponge.

Acqua, thank you so much for all your advice! It’s always good to have a recommendation and will definitely have another look at Margaret Dabbs (now I know what I’m looking for!) and probably try the CCS heel balm too.

@PomRuns can't get them anywhere at the moment! I've been looking on and offline for ages. They've disappeared Sad

@PomRuns I used to use them and now they’ve vanished, as @FreshFaceTime said!

Thanks for all the recommendations, will get shopping and try some of these suggestions ☺️

Margaret Dabbs is great but pricey. Flexitol is good and Scholl’s (balm I think ? - unf don’t see it very often) is excellent, and so cheap compared to other things. I would really recommend Margaret Dabbs’ footfile- it is expensive (£24) but it is excellent, best one ever. You could get it from QVC and return for a refund if you don’t like it.

I think yummy be overdoing it with the daily pumice. I found that when I was using a foot file thing, the more I did the worse it got. Almost, as if my feet when I to “toughen up to protect my gait/shoes/lifestyle”. I use the Boots cracked heel cream and use morning, evening, before I run, each time I put my socks on etc etc. I’ve a few tubes around the house. My feet are better for it.

I think you MAY be overdoing it 🙄🙄🙄

I’d like to be yummy @HeraInTheHereAndNow 🤣🤣

Do you think so? I’ll drop it down then - I’m only doing it daily because I appear to be a snake and am actually shedding skin from under my heels, so I want to slough it off. I think my new trainer socks didn’t do me any favours 😬😬

@WaitinginVain I use the foot hygiene cream. It's oil based with tea tree oil so as a double effect, it stops you from getting athletes foot. It is really greasy, and I often use with socks otherwise you're in trouble.

It really has made a huge difference to my feet. The scrub is nice but more of a treat than essential.

Flexitol is the only thing that keeps my cracked heels at bay. It doesn’t smell great, that’s true! I rub it on and put socks over the top, then wash my hands and put some handcream on them.
Soap and glory heel genius does absolutely nothing for my feet other than make them smell pepperminty!

As @ Acqua said, CCS heel balm is highly effective, it's the one that podiatrists tend to recommend, was very underwhelmed by Margaret Dabbs products.

CCS foot cream is the nuts. (Also a runner and I work standing up and barefoot on a cold kitchen floor nowadays so my feet are both battered and dried out.

Footner is good but I tried the Boots own brand exfoliating socks and the results were fantastic too. Highly recommend. Feet are lovely and soft now.

A Collossall Microplane footfile (lots on eBay) has worked wonders for myself and some friends and family. Use dry, you will shed piles of dry dead skin. Very satisfying! Follow up with plenty of whichever lovely foot cream you've chosen.

As a foot specialist i know all of these creams, the best advice i can give is there are only two mentioned that i would recommend.
Flexitol heel balm and ccs heal balm. Everything else doesn't have enough urea in it to help you.
Foot plaining/ rasping etc will only give temporary respite and actually mimic walking and create hard skin.
My suggestion is that you visit a GOOD specialist, sadly I am seeing alot of people who appear on Facebook etc who have little or no experience and no quality training. A good quality foot health professional will remove the skin properly to give you a good base to apply creams above.
I don’t recommend Margaret Dabbs as it contains Emu oil and is overpriced.
