Crepey Neck and Saggy Jowls

Hi All,
I've recently lost 25lb and although I'm really pleased I can now see that my jowls look more saggy and my neck a lot more crepey.
I'm bewildered by the amount of serums/lotions/retinol products and day & night creams that are on the market and also by the difference in prices. I'm even thinking about botox or something.
Is there any miracle cream that you swear by and wouldn't be without - that actually tightens up your skin without resorting to surgery?? I'm 57 so I do expect that my skin is going to sag but it's all I can see when I look in the mirror.
Am willing to try anything if it works!!

In all honesty I don't think serums and creams will make any noticeable difference. Jowels and the crepey neck are most likely due to fat loss (loss of plumpness under the skin), and loss of elasticity. I would think that Botox, fillers and other non or surgical enhancements would work best and get you the most noticeable difference for four money

I second @WineGetsMeThroughIt - unfortunately I don’t think there’s much that will get rid of the jowls

I would recommend doing a thorough skincare routine anyway but can’t really recommend specially what to use as it depends on your skin type. But I would recommend watching James Welsh on YouTube. He’s got some really no nonsense tutorials about what to use for what concern, honest reviews of brands and products etc. Most are only about 15 mins long so easy to fit in

I do sympathise though...my genes mean I will be blessed with a very fetching turkey neck which I’ve made clear to DH that I want a neck lift when I hit 50 Grin

I'm 40 and have jowels for one reason or another - weight loss, age, genetics. Perhaps all. My mother has them, and while I see nothing wrong with her, I cannot stand to see them on myself. I would love a facelift at some point, but think 40 is a bit too early for that. Plus I can't afford it lol. I've been told that a small amount of filler in the cheeks can help lift the skin and lesson the look of jowels. I'm considering it, but worried it will look too artificial. Still, I will probably get it done at some point

Thank you both. I've just ordered another (pointless) product with 52,000+ good reviews. It's coming tomorrow so I'll try that one and then go down the non-surgical route. There's a beauty place up the road from me so I'll pop in there and see what they say. I pull the skin on my neck back every day and it looks so much better so I think having it professionally tightened is the only route. I'm so self conscious about it - oh the delights of getting old 😞

I was thinking of going to have to wear scarves or not care for the rest of my life! Early 40s and have a clear and present wattle.

Foreo Bear skin toning device. Look at the fantastic skincare threads on here.

You need SPF 50 proper sunscreen every day, not just one in a moisturiser. Helps prevent further damage, and is essential if using any of the options listed below, apart from cleanser and moisturiser.

Retinol from Medik8 or better - one of their retinoids. Better again, prescription tretinoin from Dermatica or Skin&Me or private dermatologist.

Vitamin C from Skinceuticals or Vichy.

Exfoliating acid from Paula's Choice or Biologique Recherche.

Only start one new product at a time, build up slowly, and give it about 2 months to see if your skin looks better or is having a negative reaction. All of the above can be drying and/or irritating.

The gentlest cleanser you can find. Avene extremely gentle cleanser or La Roche-posay toleriane are good.

Any moisturiser that moisturises your face and neck well.

You could try ultherapy. I've had it twice with some success. It's very expensive though. It would cost about the same for a neck lift. It's also very painful and I get a lotof bruising. .

I bought a home radiotherapy kit and micro-needling kit from QVC. My fave looked tighter. I've since gone for fibroblasting. I've had my eyes and neck done. I'm going to get my Jowls done. I'm 53. The results last year's, so are good value for money. The picture is a random ok be from the internet. The dots last around a week but can be covered after two days.

I would try a Rene Guinot Hydradermie Lift treatment first of all. The full works, neck and eyes as well as face.
I don't know whereabouts you are, but I can recommend, from personal experience, a salon in the south-west, if that is any help.
