Different size feet.

I'm hoping for reassurance that I'm not the only person that has this problem.
My left foot is 2.5, my right foot is 2.

I've just got some new trainers arrive - size 2.5. I wear orthotics so have got them in the shoes already. I'm trying them out in the house, wearing the trainer socks I usually use and it's obvious whilst that the 2.5 fits nicely on the left foot, my size 2 right foot is flopping around a bit in the shoe.

So it's looking like I'll need to order a pair of size 2s & use the right shoe for my right foot.

Does anyone else have to do this? Sometimes I can get away with a size 2.5 for both feet but a lot of times I can't...

Luckily as they're children's shoes, buying 2 pairs isn't too expensive - certainly with these trainers, two pairs of children's doesn't come close to the cost of the adult sizes!
(Shows what a rip off shoes can be - a couple of sizes bigger & it's double the price)

Some places allow you to order different sizes for each foot. I think the adidas site does maybe? I think a half size difference is really quite common, probably just more obvious on your little feet!

Having slightly different sized feet is quite common. I have heard it recommended to put an insole in the shoe of your smaller foot. I don't know how that works when surely that doesn't take off length or width, but apparently it helps!
Would an (extra) insole work with your orthotics? Maybe underneath?

If that doesn't help it definitely sounds worth buying the second pair of shoes. The waste of the two unusable shoes is annoying (though you could list them on Freecycle or something, clearly labelled in case anyone has the opposite size difference!) but you don't want to get blisters or knee problems from the sloppy shoe.

It is handy being able to fit into children's sizes- I remember our (small) PE teacher reassuring the shorter girls that although they weren't picked first for basketball teams, it was great being able to buy childrens shoes with no VAT!

I discovered with Adidas, if you are below a size 3, you're no longer in kids shoes.
I had to buy from Ages 4-8 which are even cheaper but not so good if velcro straps aren't your thing Confused
I've got 60 days before I need to return so I'll book in to see my podiatrist & see if we can boost the right orthotic & take it from there.
