Need help with work wardrobe - nice dresses

I'm 52. 5'5". 11 stone 3 and probably about a size 14 top and size 16 bottom. I'm trying to lose weight (ideally would be 10 and a half stone) but it's so slow-going.
Need clothes for spring/summer for work. Don't need to be very business smart but need to be presentable. Travel by train and walk. Can wear trainers and change when I get to the office. Work on my own most of the day but spend 2 hours every afternoon in a more customer-facing environment so need to look like I've made an effort.
In general very out of practice at all this as it's a new job after 11 years at home. And I don't understand my weird lumpy menopausal body anymore, have forgotten what I like, the shops are too scary anyway, no idea what's in fashion. Arrggh.
The look I quite like (on other people, including those who - on closer inspection - don't have the perfect body shape) is a nice pretty dress with short jacket. Dress not too long but definitely below the knee. Not too tight round my lumpy bits but not loose so that my lumpy bits just wobble around underneath uncontrolled. Thinking I would wear with tights in colder weather and bare legged in summer, but with shorts underneath to stop chub rub and give a smooth shape (please advise about these too).
My feet are in a bad shape - massive bunions so sandals are out but could probably squeeze my trotters into some flat shoes - must have soft soles as I can't clip-clop around.
Have at least found a good hairdresser so hair is in reasonable shape. Need new glasses next, or might even brave contact lenses again.
Would rather experiment with some cheaper clothing brands in case I either lose weight (here's hoping) or change my mind about my look, rather than spend a fortune on stuff I won't wear.
I need to re-invent myself basically.

I would start with Hobbs. Lots of figure friendly dresses and regular sales. I have a bunch of Hobbs dresses I have worn for years. Try either shift dresses or something like a shirt dress with a wider skirt, that should work even if your size changes
