Product to glue down and smooth frizz?

I know there's been a gazillion threads on this but I'm still searching.

I have super "strong" (as in, it bounces most grips and clips straight out), quite coarse, wavy/curly hair. CG method did nothing for me, and I already have loads of great products for detangling, smoothing or curl defining etc when air or blow drying.

What I haven't found however, is a decent finishing product - I can get some nice shaped loose waves, but the top layer of frizz is very strong and no amount of creams, oils or serums are enough to damp it down and blend it in. Straightening brushes and irons make it too straight, I just want to smooth the rough surface layer and keep the wave. I've tried styling waxes and pastes but they pull it straight and it's then too sticky to blend with the rest!

Any ideas? I need something strong enough to hold it, but still with a bit of slip once dried. The Andrew Collinge Design and Shine stick was the best but they don't manufacture it any more...

Wella Professionals Oil Reflections is great - can use on damp hair or once dry. A little goes a long way, but doesn't make hair greasy etc (mine anyway, but it is coarse and porous).

I feel your pain. I have very curly hair and have this frizz. All was well until I reached perimenopause and now my hair looks and feels like cotton wool with halo of frizz that won't be tamed. Occasionally I use some argan oil lightly to try and tame the frizz but I've booked I for a keratin smoothing treatment (2 weeks time) so hoping this loosns the curls and tames the frizz.

Ooh Wella Professionals @DeadCertain, will give that a look thanks!

I've had 3 keratin treatments @PJsEveryday, I certainly recommend them - brilliant for soft smooth waves. The only reason I haven't been for another is that the last one cost me £180, and barely lasted a month! I think it depends on the quality, the earlier formaldehyde ones I had lasted nearly 4 months.

With the right products and a bit of effort I can achieve a similar result, it's just that top layer that can't be tamed. I'm menopausal too, in fact my hair thinned terribly for a while - I started taking biotin, which stopped it falling out within about 10 days. Now it's growing back in, the halo is insane!

That's a lot of money for only one month benefit! Hmm, I was quoted £225 but I was told it the benefits would last 6 months. Not a chance can I afford a treatment for 225 that lasts 1 month.
