buy some cheapo long tops/short dresses from primark and some leggings. do you have boots?

RubySlippers · 15/11/2007 10:21

i wore my maternity clothes for about 6 weeks after as they were more roomy and comfortable

probably isn't what you want to hear tho' is it?

think the key thing is comfort - what about a couple of nice jumper/sweater dresses - will hide the fastenings on your jeans

StrangeTown · 15/11/2007 10:23

I am still pregnant and have the whole thigh issue going on too. Am dreading trying to get into any of my old stuff post baby. I am planning on wearing skirts + knee length boots quite a bit to avoid the jeans/thighs combo. I'm looking for seudey/cordy skirts that don't cling. Just not sure what size to get yet, will have to wait and see. I do sympathise and hope others come along with more suggestions!

at least 6 weeks for tummy to get back down

also, next sizes are skimpy

you need a couple of lovely skimming tunics, i got one in asda last week for £6

some pull on jersey trousers

sweater dresses/ tunics

I would be eary of the leggings too tbh. I think the cheaper ones can look cheap iykwim. Maybe we just haven't seen the right ones!

I got some great boots in TK Maxx, £30 flat, choc brown and wide fit, but they don't do online...

I'll have a look for some others. I got some (surprisingly) from Principles last year.

Lulumama · 15/11/2007 10:34

matalan is excellent for this sort of thing too

Lulumama · 15/11/2007 10:35

no, i copied and pasted it with my link by mistake

StrangeTown · 15/11/2007 10:47

Phew - thought I was in trouble for a sec!

Bundle · 15/11/2007 11:06

today i've got leggings (M&S ones) a wrap dress with a pink vest underneath and red clarks boots on and I'm definitely no skinny minnie! thinnish layers can be good esp in cold weather. re: bf maybe a top/dress roomy enough to hitch up, with t-shirt underneath?

MrsBadger · 15/11/2007 11:31

dresses / tunics are possible if you can get the neckilne down to feed (wear vest under and hitch that up) - get ones with really deep vs, or with buttons thus or thus

I know it feels like hell waiting to get back into non-mat clothes but you will kick yourself if you spend loads then find they are too big in 6wks (or less)

have your hair done instead, or buy some earrings

MrsBadger · 15/11/2007 11:38

M&S good for buttoned tunics
one
two

With flat boots.

You are right - M&S have a good choice of stuff at moment...
