Staying warm outdoors at summer wedding

I’m looking at outfits for a summer wedding (attending as a guest) and it’s just occurred to me that thanks to Covid there’s a chance the entire thing will be outdoors. How can one stay warm and also glamorous and also not look ridiculous?? What’s everyone else doing?

Get a full length fake fur coat (right to the floor) and leave it in the car if you don't need it ...

Where is the wedding? Scottish Highlands vs. South East will probably have a big impact on what you wear. For the outside weddings I've attended I've worn a nice blazer over the top of my dress (have a look at Pinterest for inspiration) as the pashmina has had its day a bit! At least you are forewarned and can prep a bit... have a distinct recollection of BILs wedding where he neglected to mention it would be outside. It was 9 degrees and elderly grandparents expecting a nice hotel wedding were frozen (as was I!)

Why would it be completely outside due to Covid? After 21st June all restrictions are lifted aren’t they? I haven’t heard anything about wedding receptions needing to be outside. Hopefully this is an unnecessary worry but I am interested as I’ve got 3 weddings this summer!

I had the same situation for a May wedding a couple of years ago. I wore a close fitting thermal vest under my dress and it really kept me warm.

I used to live in Aberdeen and yes, I imagine an outdoor wedding there would need a coat all year round!

If it is an outdoor wedding, in NI or Scotland especially, I'd probably bring a lightish coat and I'd also go with a jumpsuit or trousers or maybe a heavier dress or skirt rather than a floaty dress tbh. But I hate the cold despite spending most of my childhood in NI! Currently in my wool thermals and wool sweater in the SE England.

If I was going to a potentially cold wedding, this^^ is along the lines of what I'd wear
