Short "baby hairs" won't grow

Hi dd10 starts secondary school in September. She has lots of hair around her forehead that are only 1-4cm, her hair is naturally curly and they and by the end of the school day they stick up. I've heard you can buy oil to help with growth. Also vitamins but I'm not keen to try those. Any advice please as she's only just started to become concerned.

Thanks.

I'm no expert, but I've heard that massage, as well as certain oils, such as coconut and castor, can help blood flow and so stimulate hair growth.

How long have the baby hairs been this length? Assuming she doesn't use hair straighteners?

RevolvingPivot · 06/05/2021 11:31

They have never been longer than what they are now. No hair dryer or straightens no but I guess she probably will want to use them from September.

I still have these.

Either blow dry them or hairspray lightly.

Or hair down.

You can also braid or plait them and pin the plait if you see what I mean.

Hmm I'm sure it won't be anything to worry about, but it must be frustrating.

I would advise her to stay away from the straighteners if she is tempted, because these kind of hairs can really stick up after straightening.

Could she maybe get a curtain fringe/bangs or full fringe to disguise them?

RevolvingPivot · 06/05/2021 11:58

Those hairs are too short to plait.

I've tried her with a fringe but as her hair is wavy it flicks up.

I've just found a wand on Amazon so I'll see if that works. Thanks all.

I'm 40 and still have these. Don't know if they'll ever go away tbh. My hormones is straight and I try and blowdry them down and use a serum to smooth and add a bit of weight.

It's hard to explain but she's literally got 1-4cm
Of hair all across from ear to ear so it's so obvious.
