Please help me find this bra

I’m after an everyday bra to replace the Sloggi Zero Feel crop-top style ones I presently have (but don’t like).

I’m a UK clothing size 14. Using the BOB measuring method I’m a size 34E. Sensory issues mean I cannot stand anything tight or itchy on my skin.

It needs to be:-

  • comfortable and supportive
  • made from predominantly natural fabric(s)
  • seam free (no wires, metal, hook & eye fastenings etc).
  • not padded
  • ideally available in (pasty white person), nude colour

I realise they should fit the bill, but can’t stand the Molke bras. Way too matronly looking for my taste.

I have a couple of Falke and Sweaty Betty sports bras that do a good job for their intended purpose of a few hours exercise, but they don’t work for all day wear as are too constrictive and the man-made fabric gives me sweaty boobs even with minimal exertion.

All suggestions gratefully received Smile

What is it about the Sloggi that you don't like? Just because I found the crop top slips off my shoulders a lot, and changing to their racerback style was much better.

www.marksandspencer.com/2pk-non-wired-full-cup-bras-a-e/p/clp60467864?color=GREYMIX might be worth a try?

www.marksandspencer.com/body-non-wired-cami-bra-a-e/p/clp60489487?color=BLACK#intid=prodColourId-60489485 this too.

I hate the original Molke bras but they have a new version that is seriously comfortable and better looking!

@WrinklesShminkles
I don’t like the fabric. It gets sweaty in summer or if I have a busy day (non-sedentary job), and it doesn’t stay put or give much support.

@QuestionableMouse
Thanks for those links, but both have hook & eye fastening and metal clasps on the straps, which I can’t cope with. Likewise the newer Molke style.

Starting to think my perfect bra just doesn’t exist

I’ve got a boody crop top - bamboo seamless knit and very comfy. Not sure on sizing though - I’m 30DD with sort of wide soft boobs (not full and perky) and the small is fine for me but they might lack support for an E cup. Quite reasonable so might be worth a shot?

minipie · 04/05/2021 18:25

Have a look at Gap eg Plunge Seamless Bralette and Seamless Ribbed Bralette.

I’ve got the Plunge one and like it. It’s man made though, as is the other one. I agree bamboo may be your best bet if you want natural.

BestestBrownies · 04/05/2021 18:27

@Verbena87
Those Boody crop tops are the current front-runner in my own research, but I worry the viscose (bamboo), might be sweaty.

I’m a similar shape (boobs set wide apart, somewhat deflated). Do you find they push your boobs together and result in sweaty cleavage at all?

I am trying to lose weight, so planning to buy once down to about a 32D

I’ve not found it too sweaty. There is a bit of squishing boobs together but not enough for that horrible cleavage-swelter if you know what I mean. My only criticism is the straps are very slightly short and the band section could do with being a bit tighter compared to the actual boob bit, so the band rides up very slightly if I have an active day. I’m going to order a medium and try putting a dart at the centre back to get a bit more of a difference between band and cups.

That M&S Flexifit one looks very promising, thanks! Have looked on their website before but must have missed it.

Great price too!

Thanks @minipie, but I don’t get on at all with elastane-rich fabrics (which all the nicer seam free bras seem to be made of), as they’re just too sweaty

I've never found bamboo to be sweaty and I wear it a lot. 😊

BestestBrownies · 04/05/2021 18:47

@Verbena87
That’s really helpful, thank you. I know exactly what you mean by cleavage swelter. I get that if I try to wear one of my sports bras all day as the fabric doesn’t wick away sweat (which you’d think would be the no1 requirement of such an item)

@QuestionableMouse
Good to know! I was a bit skeptical once I realised that bamboo is simply re-branded viscose, but I am very cynical, so probably should give it the benefit of the doubt...

Right with you on sweaty sports bras - so annoying!
