Petite and ‘light spring’ - please help me rejuvenate my wardrobe!

Hi all!

Just had my colours done, and I’m a ‘light spring’ (so it looks like I suit very light and pale pastel colours). I’m also quite petite (5 foot) and in my early thirties. And I’ve also got into a lockdown rut, as I’ve been working from home and just can’t be bothered to make an effort Blush

Normally, I tend to go for dresses when deciding what to wear for work, and basically live in jeans and jumpers outside of work.

I’m not very adventurous at all with clothes, so I like the idea of keeping it ‘timeless’, but also really want to wear outfits that suit me and are flattering. Any ideas for what outfits and clothes to look into? Thanks!

Abercrombie have really nice pale colours and they do a lot of petite stuff too!

I'm afraid I'm finding it very hard to find petite clothing, the ranges are so limited unless you're into crop tops.

Also as a petite I'm sticking with my skinny jeans for now.

Wish I could be of helpSad

I think 'timeless' can come over as 'classic'= dated and frumpy.
Fashions do change, even if it's subtle changes like width of jeans (bootleg or skinny) , length of skirts and dresses etc.

I think in your early 30s you can afford to be a bit adventurous.

Having said that, Boden do a very good petite range and their styles are 'safe'.

I’m the same height & a Blue Spring so not that much different. I began by keeping the bottom halves I already owned & was happy with & concentrated on buying tops like T shirts, fine jumpers in “ my colours”. I also splashed out on lots of scarves so I had my best colours nearest my face.
Did you go to House of Colour? If so, if you can afford it yet, they do a follow up style consultation, one to one with the advisor, which I found really helped at getting the style right. They measure every bit of you, assess your shape then have you fill in a questionnaire of your likes & dislikes, lifestyle you want to fit etc then class you into various types which sounds rigid but wasn’t really & was such a guide as they give you lots of written material of what to look for when shopping on top of colour. They’ll even do a shopping trip with you if that’s your thing but I didn’t want that.

Hi, same as poster above I'm a 5 foot blue spring too. I've had some success with Boden petite and Kettlewell tops can be good and it's helpful that they sort the seasons for you.

You can also find some pieces in H&M, river island petite, new look petite but it's just a case of looking through. Helpfully (in some ways) you can just skim past the black which seems to cut the options a lot!

Good luck with exploring it all and getting your head round it
