She is about 25, wears make up (foundation, powder, sometimes "baked", slightly over lined lips, defined eyebrows and darker nude lipsticks).

Budget is £30-40

Ideas so far:

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Medium lipstick and liner
UK lash serum (I have used it and it really works)
Mascara set (eg set of three benefit mascaras)
Nice hand creams

It doesn't have to be strictly a beauty gift

I also thought about a Slip silk face mask but they are close to £40 for one and it sure if that's a bit dull on its own.

Thanks

Yes, a brand she might not have used would be good.

When did the model scowling come into being, it makes them look like they're being forced to wear the item.

I alway enjoying receiving candles, photo frames, scarves, bubble baths/ body wash - molten brown do a lovely range.

The Lancôme mascara gift sets are lovely! Or how about Dior lipstick?

For things outside of make-up, have you thought about something like a chocolate subscription? www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/extras/indybest/food-drink/subscription-boxes/best-chocolate-subscription-box-dark-vegan-monthly-milk-a9630811.html%3famp

Or how about Birchbox or something similar? They’re beauty boxes that you can order on monthly subscriptions, and a 3-month one is just under £40.

I'll look at the Lancôme mascara sets

The problem with lipsticks is picking colours online. I am tempted by the CT pillow talk medium as I have it and think it would work for her.

I'll look at the chocolate subscriptions.

I don't think I'd go for something like birchbox as I used to subscribe to birchbox and glossy box and found that it's a lot of sample sizes. I previously bought her a cult beauty starter set which had generous or full size products.

Hadnt thought it body produce. Molton Brown seems a bit boring (sorry - probably just because I have tended to get them in advent calendars and sets) but maybe the Laura Mercier body products

I tend to avoid buying makeup for my friends who are really into it - they usually have quite strong opinions, and I don't know exactly what they have already. It''s also hard to know what colours will suit them. Basically too easy to make a well meaning mistake! I bought this brush for my makeup addict friend and she has told me how much she loves it and uses it every day. You might not want this exact one, but I think brushes will be a well received and safe choice. www.charlottetilbury.com/uk/product/powder-and-sculpt-brush

There are some friends I wouldn't buy make up for but I tend to know what this friend likes and we have similar colouring so we do buy each other make up. Some things are safer bets than others as to what she might have.

I'm not sure about a brush as I bought her a set of brushes not long ago and I feel like it's less exciting than, say, a lipstick set or not (palette) but maybe that's not me.

How did you get on OP?

ElderMillennial · 26/05/2021 13:44

I bought this benefit mascara trio when it was on TSV offer for £30-something

www.qvcuk.com/Benefit-Mascara-Masters-Trio.product.244169.html?sc=SRCH

It's got the new They're Real magnetic mascara in it so I thought it was a good deal

Haven't given it yet though as it's still a few weeks til her birthday
