18 pairs. 2 of them shorts. Love dungas.

KirstenBlest · 02/05/2021 12:54

I have a denim pinafore too but it's not a dungaree dress.

MrsLeclerc · 02/05/2021 12:58

Love them. Really wanted a pair when I was pregnant but couldn’t find the right size and shape.

Just bought some linen loose cropped ones in Tesco. Had them in a sage green and black. I think they’ll be great for running around with a toddler!

KirstenBlest · 02/05/2021 13:07

I get good comments about the dungarees from men so maybe they do like them. It's probably because they are bright though.
I feel I look taller in them than in jeans or trousers.

Twinkie01 · 02/05/2021 13:10

I got some delivered yesterday from Baujken. Felt a bit odd wearing them out as if I was in some sort of costume but DD said they were amazing, she's 6 though so would think I was amazing whatever, DS is late teens and I expected him to comment but he didn't so they can't have been too hideous. DH asked if I could wear them with nothing underneath 🙄

LivingDeadGirlUK · 02/05/2021 13:30

I like a pinny dress.

Tuesdaysintheazores · 02/05/2021 13:54

Okay for the small of breast. I think you're either a dungarees person or you're not though

Yep. I love the idea as they look so comfy, but I'm the wrong shape to look good in them! Also DH hates them - it's the only clothing he has ever commented negatively on, so I feel I should balance out the times I made him stop wearing a particularly horrible jumper and not get any.
misskatamari · 03/05/2021 07:48

Yes, I really like them. Ive always wanted dungarees but always thought i was too fat/theyd look awful etc. Finally decided "fuck it" a few months ago and bought a pair, and they're great! I've since made myself a bright pink pair and can't wait to wear them in summer 😄

PandaLady · 03/05/2021 07:52

I love dungarees - wore them all through the 90s and have quite the selection now! My nod to current style is that I also love coveralls.

I suggest Free People as they have a wide range of dungarees. They are wildly expensive though!

PandaLady · 03/05/2021 07:54

@misskatamari I have just started making my own clothes and quite fancy giving dungarees a go. Do you mind me asking which pattern you used please?

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 03/05/2021 08:08

I adore my dungarees. Not keen on dungaree dresses, though I couldn't tell you why.

Lovemusic33 · 03/05/2021 08:22

I now want to buy more dungarees, I think I have 5 pairs but I ripped my favourite pair which I bought from a little shop whilst on holiday last year.

I struggle to find a pair of denim ones that fit comfortably but the fat face ones look good. I live not having something tight around my waste, they are so comfortable.

DariaMorgendorffer · 03/05/2021 08:30

Love them, but unfortunately they don't suit me.

misskatamari · 04/05/2021 14:18

@PandaLady of course not 😄 I've made the Heyday dungarees by Waves and wild (previously Made by jacks mum). There's a website to buy the pattern from and some really helpful Facebook groups. I'm hoping to make more, they're lovely and slouchy. My pink ones were a practice pair out of some old upholstery fabric, but they've turned out so well. I've got some purple cord I'm hoping to use for some, and maybe some tartan needle cord, although I can't decide if it's too thin or not, will see how I feel when the weather actually decides to get a bit warmer :)

pommedeterre · 04/05/2021 15:50

I have a cord dungaree dress that I wear a bit, mainly in the autumn. Last week I took delivery of the Wyse dungarees in mid wash and I basically haven't taken them off since. My first ever pair of actual dungarees since being a toddler. I love them. They were a treat though as £££s.

Sacreblue · 04/05/2021 15:54

Yes. I might be persuaded to give them up if other clothes had proper pockets tho.

PandaLady · 04/05/2021 16:25

@misskatamari ooooh how exciting! I have loads of upholstery fabric that needs using and hadn't thought about making dungarees out of it.

I am making a tunic top from an old 70s pattern today out of a pair of curtains I bought in a charity shop for £3. I am really new to clothes making and will defo give dungarees a good go.

My coveralls arrived (Marci from Free People) and I adore them. Like a prev poster they cost ££££ but definitely worth it!

teddybears55 · 04/05/2021 16:33

I like the dresses for my 4yr old but not for me!

misskatamari · 04/05/2021 19:38

Oooh @PandaLady exciting! Definitely give the dungarees a go, they're fab! I've only gotten properly into clothes making the last few months and am currently obsessed with making pants for all of us 🤣 (the waves and wild wonder undies and speedy pants are fab!). There is just too much amazing fabric out there tho and I want it aaaalllll 😄
