Overnight antiperspirants

I’ve been using Driclor for years as I can get a bit sweaty. It works great and I don’t have to re-apply that often, and only really use in the warmer months.

However, it absolutely violates my armpits. It leaves them looking a bit burnt or grazed on the outer armpit, and itches during the night.

I tried another brand years ago (can’t remember what it was called) and it didn’t burn, but it also didn’t work.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a similar product that is effective but kinder to the skin?

TIA

I like triple dry it takes a few days to work, but is really effective.
The sure overnight one is good too, but I cannot stand wearing smelly stuff in bed.

I like the dove one or the Mitchum men

flibbertigibbety · 28/04/2021 08:05

Odaban is milder on the skin and works just as well I've found.

I've not been able to find driclor recently so have switched to Triple Dry - I need to use it a bit more often, a couple of times a week but absolutely no irritation at all.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/04/2021 08:55

If you put moisturiser on the skin it stops the burning.

I would try alternating it with a Sure or Dove heavy duty one some days - and yes, use moisturiser on your armpits.

ShirleyPhallus · 28/04/2021 09:04

I find it still works well if you apply the teeniest tiniest amount and then use a hairdryer on cool to dry it properly before going to bed

BasinHaircut · 28/04/2021 09:18

@Fluffycloudland77 @MissLathbury do you mean apply moisturiser before I put the driclor on?

I’d just do it at another time, after a bath or shower when I’m putting body lotion on.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/04/2021 10:28

After the driclors gone onto dry skin apply a moisturiser.

Flambola · 28/04/2021 11:32

I use Perspirex but I make sure to use it on completely dry skin, the day after I’ve shaved otherwise it can itch/burn.

youmakemydreamscometrue · 28/04/2021 11:38

Odaban is less irritating.
When I used driclor I had the same problem I used to dry my arm pits with the hairdryer first to make sure there was no trace of any water left from showering then dry the product in with the hair dryer too.

I now only use it if I'm going to a big occasion like a wedding etc. I find wearing Mitchum cream deodorant plus their spray is enough from most days.

BasinHaircut · 28/04/2021 13:55

I’m going to experiment with the driclor and moisturiser next time I use it. I’ll probably leave it a couple of nights before I go again due to the burn!

I use the Sure heavy-duty stick, it seems to work for me, and no irritation!

TaraR2020 · 28/04/2021 14:45

If you experience burning because underarms aren't completely dry, use a little body powder or talc before applying the anti perspirent.

Anhydrol Forte is the business.
