I've had my upper lip waxed, threaded and each time it ends up really red for days and with white spots on.
Can anyone recommend any other ways to get rid of it...thank you

I have something similar to the JML rotary shaver, currently on tv again.

Thanks @SpongeBobJudgeyPants I'll have a look for something like that

I use a cream from Boots. Leave it on for 2 minutes and wipe and wash off. It's not sore after and so easy.

I have PCOS which causes hair growth on my chin and upper lip. I wax my own using Nair sensitive wax strips, but will often use these ladies face razors which work amazing. They get rid of all the dead skin and peach fuzz that cover your face which makes your makeup go on so smooth and amazing. It doesn't make the hair grow back any thicker or darker either

I bleach it. Makes it invisible. No soreness or redness or anything. So easy.

Sorry to burst your bubble but chances are it's not invisible - especially in the sun. I have very fine blonde hairs on my lip and chin that are accentuated by the sun

Philips Lumea.

ButeIsle · 27/04/2021 21:35

Depending on your colouring, skin and hair.

MySocalledLoaf · 27/04/2021 21:43

Bleach cream. I don’t care about the blone hairs being visible, it’s the shadow I don’t like.
I’d get lasered if bleaching weren’t so easy, just the upper lip is very cheap.

Woodlandbelle · 27/04/2021 21:45

I use the Philips Lumea.

Echobelly · 27/04/2021 21:48

I used Veet cream for face. My hairs are light coloured so Lumea or similar wouldn't work, I gather. Skin can be a tiny bit red/sensitive afterwards, though the aftercare cream that comes with it helps and the redness doesn't last long, I just wouldn't use it right before going out somewhere!

Mellonsprite · 27/04/2021 22:30

I had this with waxing and threading, a thick covering of bepanthen (nappy cream) overnight seem to tone it down. I have no idea how I found this out!
I did get sick of it though, and had it lasered eventually.

Lindy2 · 27/04/2021 22:33

I've had the little white spots after waxing. I found that applying an antiseptic cream like germaine afterwards stops the spots.

Anordinarymum · 27/04/2021 22:37

Tea tree lotion/cream is ace for cooling down skin that has been epilated/waxed or creamed for hair removal.

Same!

I'm still lasering mine. But the grey ones are bastards as they have to heave electolysis. It's taken 2 years to get on top of it. Can only go in the winter because I tan too much.

HomicidalPsychoJungleCat · 27/04/2021 23:06

Epilator.

MisgenderedSwan · 28/04/2021 07:13

I wax, make sure I wash my face before with face wash and a flannel then use toner. When I've waxed I use toner again to get rid of the excess then use bio oil. Haven't had any spot since.

Doggitydog · 28/04/2021 07:25

I use that spring hair remover thing (not sure what it’s called), it stings a bit at first but you soon get used to it and it doesn’t hurt at all. Gets rid of all the fuzz.
