I have very fine, very greasy dark brown hair. I have to wash it every other day. Its a nightmare. I've tried everything I can think of, every shampoo, and every dry shampoo. Nothing seems to work. Dry shampoo is crap, doesn't work, and I am just fed up. I'm disabled so bathing and washing my hair is really difficult. I've resorted to just tieing it up in a pony tail, but as its so fine it looks crap constantly.
Any help appreciated

Have you tried using dry shampoo at night instead of in the morning? I had to reduce the frequency that I washed my hair after a keratin treatment and found dry shampoo much more effective if I put it in right before bed, then slept with my hair in a satin lined beanie.

I've tried it. My hair just ends up looking even worse come the morning Hmm stupid hair

Ever dyed it lighter? My hair is the same and dying it a lighter colour has dried it out basically. Make sure when you condition it as well that you only do the ends.

I've never dyed my hair, and don't plan to.

I slipped on black ice earlier in the year and put my back out resulting in having difficulty doing basic things.

I used a foaming dry shampoo instead of the traditional powder spray ones and it was excellent.

I used to have oily hair. I think I was washing my hair wrong basically.

Before you wash your hair, use the tip of your fingers (not your nails) to massage your scalp all over, this will slightly 'melt' the oil which can get a bit hard on your scalp.

Wet your hair, and make sure you distribute the shampoo on the scalp. If like me you have thick hair, if you wash just the hair, the oil which is produced by your scalp doesn't get washed off properly. So you really have to focus on washing the scalp, not the hair (I hope that makes sense!!!)

Rinse, and repeat. It does take longer but it works. I have always used Head and Shoulders, even if I don't have dandruff.

And use conditioner just on the tip of the hair, don't let it get close to the scalp.

It's the same with dry shampoo, you need to make sure it gets on to the scalp/root of the hair.

Have you tried a clarifying shampoo? DD had hideous greasy hair through puberty and our hairdresser suggested a tigi men's clarifying shampoo, she had to make sure she really massaged it into the roots though and then only a light conditioner through the mid lengths and ends. If she didn't do this she literally looked like she hadn't even washed her hair straight after washing and drying it.

Yeah, ive tried clarifying shampoo. .the only thing I've ever found that worked was wilkos dry shampoo for brunettes. It was brilliant and only a quid a bottle. But they discontinued it
