Eyebrow threading - does not always involve trimming eyebrows too?

Had my eyebrows threaded for the first time ever today. Went to a local shopping centre where there is a stand, always with queues. I am really pleased with how they look - my eyebrows are quite thick, and they’ve kept their basic shape but no strays and more groomed. Not that DH or my friend can see any difference, they say!

After the threading, the beautician them trimmed he edges of my brows, I assume to get a clean line. I was obviously expecting the threading, but I wasn’t expecting this. Is it a standard part of the process?

Yes it is
Just the stragglers on the ends to help with shape

I think it possibly depends on how hairy you are! I usually get mine done every three weeks, and have to do a sly wee trim with nail scissors in between. Less hirsute friends just get threaded or waxed with no scissors involved.

I’m in Scotland where beauty services just opened today, and I look positively unhinged. I cannot wait to see my eyebrow lady later in the week!

Yes completely normal.

WellTidy · 27/04/2021 08:33

I’m hairy! Glad to hear it’s normal. It wasn’t just the stragglers that she trimmed though, it seems like the entire top of the brow and the tops of the brows in the centre. I can see which ones have been cut. I just wanted to check that it was standard.

Yep normal part of the process. My brows are quite sparse but the front ones still get long and have a trim. Reminds me I need to book a brow appointment....

Divineswirls · 27/04/2021 11:42

Yes it's standard

SouthOfFrance · 27/04/2021 13:04

Non-hairy person here, I'd say its normal. They always do the bits that stick up in the centre for me.

WaltzingBetty · 27/04/2021 13:10

It's normal.

If she threaded out all the straggly ones, she'd thin out the brow overall

Amrapaali · 27/04/2021 13:45

It's normal if this is your first time. Once the shape is established, the trimming won't be needed every time.

I have a weird hair in the middle of one eyebrow. It curves out and down like a demented scimitar Confused It always needs to be trimmed after threading

CornishGem1975 · 27/04/2021 13:48

Yep as others have said, totally normal. I now attack mine with the nail scissors when I notice a straggler!

Thank you! Feeling very reassured. I’m scarred by my mum’s tale of having her eyebrows plucked by her sister in the 60s to within an inch of their lives. They never grew back.
