I have so many blackheads all over my nose and cheeks and T zone and I really want something that works to get rid of them. What have you come across that does not cost the earth?

All the products are fantastic and inexpensive.

A common mistake in trying to rid yourself of blackheads is to keep stripping the skin by removing the funk from the blocked pores and using very drying products in the process.

The skin will keep on producing oil and the pores will fill up again.

After using any kind of astringent or exfoliation it’s important to use a light moisturiser so that the skin doesn’t over produce oil.

Creightons make a budget friendly range that contains salicylic acid and can be bought in Home Bargains or online.

The foaming clay cleanser, soothing lotion and serum are just as good as high end products I have previously bought.

I also use Balance Active formula Niacinamide blemish recover serum which is excellent in pore result and also is very inexpensive.

funk means gunk^^

Oooh can I jump in with a question please seeing as we clearly have a guru here @Chatanooga1 Smile

I use salicyclic acid regularly which definitely helps with blackheads or sebaceous filaments - but the good old night sweats seems to mean they fill right back up again overnight!

Does anyone know of something that helps to shrink pores so they actually stay closed once cleared? Or is that a silly question?

This has poor reviews about it breaking but I have never had a problem.

It’s one of the more gentle brushes on the market but effective when used is circular motions with a foaming salicylic acid wash.

I used to have an expensive Clarisonic but it was far too harsh and I prefer a gentle manual brush.

You can even use a soft or a child’s toothbrush.

I use rolled oats. Mix a handful with a tiny amount of warm water from kettle. Tie hair out of way. Rub on t-zone and it goes a bit soapy. Rub off in circular motions with clean flannel and warm water.

I stopped my night sweats completely with these - www.vitabiotics.com/pages/menopause-supplements-menopace?gclid=CjwKCAjwg4-EBhBwEiwAzYAlsvOvc6yupgtg72ze4XwNYcPFg589yZ6rwO_SubjWf0rBV02QexT_SBoCxq8QAvD_BwE

The Balance Active Formula Niacinamide blemish recover serum calm and clear is fantastic for pores and gives me that glass skin look. I can’t recommend it enough. Link in previous comment.

What you might find with a new routine and new products is that you’re skin may purge itself and you might have a few spots come to a head.

That’s quite normal and doesn’t last long.

Resist the urge to squeeze and gently wash your face using warm not hot water and a clean flannel or wash cloth in circular movements which will open up any visible pustules and release trapped pus.

You can buy styptic pen or matches that Barbers use on shaving cuts on any spots that are weeping or bloodied as it dries them up after you lightly press them with the styptic pen or match and you can then apply make up without any fear of having a crust form where the spot was.
