Nioxin or Waterman?

Hi everyone.
My hair is thinning. I already use hair fibres to cover the worst of it, but would like to try to boost growth.
I don't want to take a supplement. I'd rather use something topical.
I know both Nioxin and Waterman products get good reviews but can't decide which to go for!
If anyone can share their experiences, that would be great.
TIA

I have no experiences of these products, but I'm interested to see what is said as my hair is thinning too.

Nioxin is GARBAGE

Avoid at all costs. The products don’t work and there’s nothing special about their ingredients. I used it for 6 months with no difference to my hair. I also found the scalp treatment really weighed my hair down and made it look worse.

Their products are gimmicks; their conditioner is “cooling” - so there’s a 50/50 chance it will irritate your scalp rather than stimulate it. Their customer service is also awful.

I think for thinning just have a few different options at your disposal- eg a thickening conditioner, a clarifying shampoo etc and mix and match

The living proof thickening cream really works

Also the best hair loss treatment is minoxidil. It’s the only female hair loss treatment that has been medically researched and confirmed to make a difference. Literally every other product’s result is based on anecdotal evidence and unconfirmed. Don’t get me wrong, minoxidil has a lot of downsides though.

Essentially what I’m saying is there’s no point spending lots of money on other hair loss specific items like Nioxin, as chances are, they won’t work.

A male friend of mine absolutely swears by Alpecin caffeine shampoo for this. He once sent me photos once of his hair before and 6 months after of using the max strength products. He leaves it on his scalp as a treatment (the caffeine liquid version) and then rinses it out.

I've recently finished using Nioxin and it's done nothing to help to be honest. I lost a shocking amount of hair in my third trimester of pregnancy during to undiagnosed anemia (I kept insisting I was anemic, the midwife said no and then after I had a massive bleed during my C-section they checked my notes and I had been iron deficient since week 28 - not bitter or anything....). Now post partum 5 months I'm in the midst of the 'normal' hair loss, but having lost so much already I'm finding it hard.
I've just moved on to Plantur 39 shampoo and topicical treatment and its having a slightly better effect than Nioxin which may just be due to the shampoo change but it's much cheaper than Nioxin so I would suggest starting with that if you want to try something.
