Cracked eye lid/eczema?

Can anyone help.

Last summer I think I had a reaction to the vit c serum I was using. Both eyelids and under eye became sore, flakey and cracked.
I stopped using everything and went back to basics using LRP sensitive range.
One eye is fine but periodically the other eyelid (only) becomes red, inflamed, cracked and sore.

I just can't work out what's causing it or how to fix it?

I get this during dry weather and nothing shifts it apart from 0.5% hydrocortisone with vasaline over the top.

By the time I've tried other remedies my skin is even worse. This gets instant results and then I go back to using Simple eye cream.

I have exactly the same problem, down to it reoccurring sometimes on one eye.

As previous posters have said, hydrocortisone is the only way to clear it up each time. Don't tell the chemist that's where you're using it though as they might refuse to sell it!

Every morning and night now I use Diprobase cream and then a few minutes before I put my make up on I also apply the Cerave eye cream. It keeps it at bay, well at the moment it does.....

I’ve had this too, a v thin layer of hydrocortisone with a layer of Vaseline over the top should be enough to get on top of it. My GP suggested nail varnish as something that could cause it strangely, especially if you touch your face or rub your eyes a lot.

I have suffered with this since a child and when it gets really bad I have to use steroid creams, I don’t wear any make up because it makes it worse.

The only creams I can use on my face is bodyshop hemp face cream and lush celestial (I think that’s what it’s called), every thing else seems to make it worse.

I think I will try hydrocortisone from the chemist first before asking the GP.

If I can't mention using it for my eye what could I say it's for?

Some eczema on your leg/arm etc....

Bepanthen always soothes my dry itchy eyes whenever they flare up, by I agree a bit of hydrocortisone will fix it.

Thanks

Just be really careful as steroid cream can do a number on your eyesight if it gets in it. And also can cause the skin to thin - not an issue on most of your body but eyelids are already thin.

Anything apart from Vaseline around my eyes sets them off so I slather a coat of that on my eyelids and in the corners which is very soothing if you get dry eyes
