What do I need to de-fluff curly hair?

I've tried so many creams, oils etc and nothing works to give me nice bouncy curls, it's always fluffy.
I only co-wash, don't towel dry (usually leave to dry naturally but recently have got hairdryer with diffuser). Use leave-in conditioner, curl cream, oil spray (Argan oil).
Is there a miracle cream out there that actually works?

I've been doing CGM for about a month now and getting some good results.

The first image was a month ago and the second was yesterday.

I watch a YouTuber called Swavy Curly Courtney, who has wavy hair. After watching yet another video, I really focused on Squish to condish yesterday and had a good wash day. I put on a 10 min deep conditioner, conditioned, combed through and rinsed. I added some Cantu Curl Custard and V05 gel.

My water is hard so I recently bought a new filtered shower head for £11 and that helps.

I gently queezed out the water using an old top (I don't plop) and then diffused upside down to 90% dry. After drying I scrunched out the crunch and put a tiny bit of aloe Vera in to help any frizz halo.

I have been using this conditioning oil and it's really helped me my friend suggested it and it's probably one of the best products I've bought in a long time.

My curls are better when I just use Frizz Ease conditioner and just put a drop of L’Oreal oil on the ends. The less products the better.

I can't believe no-ones mentioned a silk pillowcase! I get mine from Amazon, they're about £20, and they make a big difference for me.

Product-wise, the only thing I've learnt after a loooong time of searching for the holy grail is that it's just trial and error for people with curly hair, I'm afraid. And I agree with a pp that the CG rules just don't always work!

@Silverparting your hair looks gorgeous!!

Thank you. Honestly, it was so lacklustre a few weeks ago, so don't give up OP as your hair is far better than my starting point.

Completely agree with silk pillowcase (or silk headscarf for me). It has preserved my curls, with minimal frizz (I'm still prone to frizz, but it has improved).

Just popping back with an update, I've trialled loads of creams and gels etc and I think I'm finally getting somewhere.
Im using the umberto giannini curl jelly and curl cream from lush. I can't diffuse dry without making it fluffy so leave to dry wrapped in a t-shirt as much as possible then air dry.
Pleased with the progress so far!
