Eyebrow lamination

I've booked an appointment next week to get this done. Booked on a whim really after seeing the beauty therapists before and after photos and reading her customer testimonials. Just wondered if anyone here had had it done and whether they were happy with the results

I had it done - I was really pleased with the results, my mum thought I’d been sold a pup though Blush so I’m interested to hear what other people think

XiCi · 21/04/2021 11:07

Glad you were really pleased with it lurker.
Yes I tend not to tell my mum what I spend on hair and beauty. Mine used to maybe slap a bit of oil of olay on every now and then when we were little and get the odd haircut so just not on her radar to get treatments like this

Yes I’ve had it a few times and I do really enjoy the results but I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a bit of a waste of money.
So, it’s around 35£ where I live, they laminate and they tint. The lamination lasts about 3 weeks I’d say and the tint really doesn’t last long at all, like most eyebrow tints you have to be super careful because too much face cleansing and it’s gone within 4 days.

So realistically if you want the permanent laminated look then you need it monthly without fail and probably need to tint in between appointments too.
I personally don’t want to spend 35£ a month just on my brows and I can’t be arsed to go that often either.

So I now use soap brows and glossier brow flick to create my own laminated brow and it takes 5 so more than a couple of minutes during my usual routine.

I definitely would have laminated treatment again for a holiday if I knew I wouldn’t be wearing make up.

I like the appearance and the convenience of the t treatment but it’s expensive for the time it lasts I think

I had it done last summer, it looked good initially but once they started to grow it looked a bit odd as the hairs had quite sharp angles. I probably should have just have it re done at this point but I couldn't be bothered with the upkeep.

ZenNudist · 21/04/2021 11:13

The videos I've seen of it look stupid but I am 42 so I'm accepting that I'm no style guru. Does it not leave your actual brows looking really unkempt because they've been trimmed into an unnatural stuck up position and glued to your head?

ZenNudist · 21/04/2021 11:14

Xpost with sqirrelfriends. Suspicion confirmed.

lurker101 · 21/04/2021 11:17

@Ohpulltheotherone I paid £85 - no tint 🤦‍♀️

XiCi · 21/04/2021 11:22

Ouch lurker. Are you in London? Mine's an introductory rate of £25 but all of the salons I've looked at are in the £30-40 range

@ZenNudist - couldn't agree more! Maybe I am looking at the wrong photos but I want to comb the eyebrows back down the "normal" way

lurker101 · 21/04/2021 11:25

Yes - I think that’s the problem. It’s my usual salon and they’re fab, but quite expensive in comparison it seems....

XiCi · 21/04/2021 11:31

Some of the photos I've seen online are very extreme i.e. the more spiky ones. I dont think these looks are representative. Certainly the before and after photos I've seen from various salons just look like well maintained and groomed eyebrows and it's remedied the small patches of sparse areas that we get as we get older

It's an effective treatment for long-term styling of the eyebrows.

HappyFeet2021 · 21/04/2021 16:20

I had mine done on a whim - had my eyelashes lifted (they looked great) and went with lamination and tint too. They looked so stupid it was comical. Laughed at myself so much and spent all evening brushing them down.

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 21/04/2021 16:51

I had mine done. They looked quite nice in a way but I wouldn’t have them done again.

They feel sort of hard and crunchy and you can’t get them wet at all for 48 hours which was a pain in the arse. Oh and the stuff they use reeks like drains Envy.

I’d just have them shaped and tinted to be honest. You can achieve the same results with a £1.99 clear brow gel although it’s more temporary.
