Any tips to improve, hands very veiny but no age spots

Following with keen interest. Why are there so few good handcreams?

Journeynotdestination · 19/04/2021 08:03

My hands were very veiny and losing plumpness but I started drinking lots of water 2 litres a day if I can but 1.5 most days and it’s made a HUGE difference. They are now much less veiny & plump again!

Thank you I already drink masses of water but still have the problem , I agree we need an amazing product, here’s hoping someone has the recommendations

I love Clarins hand cream but it is very exy and, during lockdown I have been using so much. In my local Home Bargains I have found large tubs of Collagen moisturising and nourishing cream. Soaks into hands and very good. Would recommend.

Another vote for Clarins hand cream, but I alternate with a cheaper one: Cera Ve.
I've seen the Re Nutriv one on the Estee Lauder website that's £60: can it be worth it, I wonder? Anyone tried it?

PersonaNonGarter · 19/04/2021 10:54

I’d like one which moisturises and makes nails strong and has an spf

Tehmina23 · 19/04/2021 11:03

My hands are looking ancient due to too much hand washing & gel!!

Pic here haha! I'm 44

I do put a bit of spf on when I remember and drink a lot of fluids but I work in a hospital ward & don't have time to apply handcream after washing there unfortunately.

Filler or weight gain are the only things that will work unfortunately. Tehmina23 your hands do not look old, wait till you reach your 50's.

I am an aesthetics practitioner and a popular treatment for ageing skin is skin booster injections. They are made from ultra pure hyaluronic acid and amino acids. You can have them all over your body; they're great for improving skin quality and plumpness.

Laburnam · 19/04/2021 14:20

Thank you for all the tips, I don’t fancy weight gain, think build does play a factor but the idea of fillers freaks me out.

Dr Hauschka hand cream is ace. I tried every single one on the market in lockdown - Aesop, Nursem, Burt's Bees, Clarins, L'Occitane, you name it.

Dr H beats them all.

My hands look like they belong to an 80 year old woman (albeit nourished with the best cream...) Slightly depressing.

Laburnam · 19/04/2021 14:51

How painful are they, how long do they last and the cost?

@Laburnam I've not had them in my hands personally but my clients haven't found them particularly uncomfortable. Numbing cream is usually put onto the hand in a single spot first and then a thin cannula inserted through that spot, so only one injection point. Results differ from person to person but usually around six months - good skincare will prolong the effects and improve skin quality along with the booster. Prices will be dependent on your area; I charge £180 but am on the outskirts of London

Thank you 🙏
