can't do bravissimo, too large of arse as well as nork

so far the idea is - wide legged black trousers, bustier top thingy with boning in, black jacket (boleroish???? not sure yet)

my choices are limited (sz 22)

Glad to see normal service has been resumed. Last week there was a strange outbreak of comprehensible cod posts.

Most women are bi norked.

hoxtonchick · 12/11/2007 14:22

i've got that blue bra in turquoise & brown. tis rather nice. and was in the sale... not sure about the dress.

TigerFeet · 12/11/2007 14:23

no longer work at Bravissimo, but IME, the clothes need to be tried on. They can be a funny fit, and although look nice on the models don't always look right on the real woman.

If you are mailordering - do you know what size to go for in clothes? Or do you need some advice?

I was in BHS (I know!!) the other day and saw a lovely beaded dress, which had wide enough straps to cover thick bra straps, was V necked but not too much so it would show off bra at the front, and was beaded like a 1930's 'flapper' dress. Was in black or in teal, £45. Really nice. If I was going to any parties this year, I'd get it.

The bustier thing in the new Bravissimo catalogue does look nice but I am a 32HH/34H so it won't fit me. plus, I reckon it would squish my fat out nicely all around the bottom, making a severe muffin top! (more like xmas pie top than muffin top!)

& nice material too.

Lizzzombie · 12/11/2007 14:28

General rule with tops if you are a little bit plump is to go up in the back and down in the back so it won't cling to your fat though.

eg. normal bra size = 34 G
size in a top = 36 FF

just gives you a little bit more room to breath!

Lizzzombie · 12/11/2007 14:29

not suggesting you are plump of course.

fishie · 12/11/2007 15:03

this one? too long for me but it is surprisingly nice for bhs. i like this one too

am loving that LBD from bravissimo. and only £50!
makes me wish i had a christmas do to go to!

fishie · 12/11/2007 15:46

this should be waiting for me at home. we must hope it looks nice cos i can't find anything else which isn't sleeveless.

NaeDanger · 12/11/2007 15:48

actually that's a good point.
my arms aren't my best feature. there's very little out there for hiding arms (ok i could get a wrap but i'm talking just dresses y'know)
