Too old for Botox?

Have changed name for this, as I know too many people here irl. Anyway, I’m 60, and the Covid Year has been very hard on me for various reasons, and I feel I’ve aged 10 years in a year. Don’t have forehead wrinkles or 11s but round my mouth and nose look awful.

Anyway, I use prescription retinol, SPF every day, normal mid range BMI, drink lots of water, don’t drink alcohol or smoke, eat my veggies, exercise, have decent hair, had my colours done, had a personal shop, look after my teeth etc etc. I feel I’ve gone from looking maybe 5years less than my age to 5 years older.

I know all the feminist arguments, and I can’t believe I’m thinking this but I am seriously considering Botox and/or fillers. Am I too old to get benefit from these? I feel so down on myself, and just hope if I feel better about how I look I could start to feel better generally. But don’t want to go somewhere and be laughed out the door - or even worse be treated as someone’s personal bank. And any recommendations for a good doctor in Edinburgh/Dundee/Aberdeen? Or Newcastle at a push.

I’m not sure it will be Botox you need if you don’t have 11s and forehead lines.

Maybe some filler. Depends on your budget but there are many other things rather than just Botox. So lasers are good. Radio frequency for tightening...

Thanks Delatron, yes, I’m not sure exactly what I need - probably just said Botox as that’s the one I hear about most. I know I don’t want to go as far as surgery but I’m prepared to spend a bit initially - say 1200-1500? And I can afford maybe £500 every 6 months for boosters. Not sure if that is even enough? How would I go about finding a practitioner - do I just contact private hospitals? My forehead is about 20 years younger than the rest of my face - no idea why! It’s just not very mobile and it’s ore or less completely smooth. I do have hooded eyes though.

Your not too old. I know women in their 70s having filler and Botox.

I know someone who gets the lines from their nose to their mouth filled. Also someone who get filler in her cheeks for volume.

Botox can be used on crows feet. Most good practitioners will just soften your look and make you look 'refreshed'

I've seen threads posted asking users for recommendations. If you say which part of the country you are someone could maybe point you in the right direction.

I’m very jealous of your smooth forehead! I have lots of lines at 45 but I’m very frowny!

Hopefully someone on here can give you some good recommendations. Then it’s a case of having a consultation. You may just need a bit of filler. Not everyone actually needs Botox as we all age in different areas.
