I had an emergency section and was unprepared for the damage it would do to my abdominal muscles. I now have this huge shelf of fat which I don't know how to dress around. Trousers seem an absolute no go due to the fat hanging over.
Has anyone dealt with this? Or have any tips or links to ideas? I feel like most of my wardrobe is now useless! Thanks

Sucky in knickers or a longer, baggier top with jeans. I tend to live in band tees and jeans so I've not really felt it day to day. I make sure nothing is skin tight over the area. Bikini/swimwear wise. Sucky in panels and hight waists are your friend. Just keep the eye away from the area and you'll be fine!
If anyone sensible has any exercises, I too would be grateful.

I've struggled with trousers and skirts since my first section 5 years ago. Not just the shape but I can't bear anything tight or touching the scar. I'm now due my 3rd this year so the hard tissue shelf on my abdomen is not going anywhere...

I wear a lot of high waisted leggings from mint velvet which I find very flattering, they just about smooth out the shelf enough to pop a longish top over but they don't feel tight or uncomfortable.

I've also found that stretchy ruched skirts are comfortable and great for hiding lumps and bumps. Tuck a floaty top in for a smarter look.

Loose dresses also work for me but they depends on your shape - I'm quite straight up and down so a loose dress is quite flattering. My sister is curvy and they cling to her hips and look strange.

In the early days/years I just wore loose and comfortable stuff but when I lost a bit of weight and stopped feeding etc I did find myself able to wear nice things again, just different from before.

Hope you find something - it's tough when your body changes.
