Advice on Fitflop trainer sizing needed please!

Hi

I'm about to start a new job where I'll be spending a lot of time on my feet.

I have a pair of Skechers flatform/platform glitter trainers (here) which are absolutely great in terms of comfort, but I need an alternative as well.

I like the chunky, flattish sole, so they don't look too much like actual trainers (not that anyone would ever think I'd use trainers for their intended purpose!), and I've found these by Fitlop which I like the look of, in either metallic or plain white.

Does anyone have any experience of Fitflop trainer sizing? In shoes I vary between a 6 and 7 (have both sizes and 6½ in various styles), but all my Skechers have been a size 6 (shoes, trainers and slip ons).

I could order 6 and 7 but would prefer to avoid the hassle of sending back if possible. My feet are standard width (well, I've never needed to buy wide fit shoes so I assume they are!)

All guidance greatly appreciated.

Thanks :-)

I have got these, I am normally a 6 and am 6 in these. I'd say they are standard sizing, possibly on the wide side.

I have 2 pairs of these Blush and they are the most comfortable shoes I have (I have an active job).
I am usually a 5, occasionally a 4.5 in some styles/brands but a 5 in Fitflop fits perfectly

I have these. Along with other fitflop trainers. I’m usually a 4.5/5 in shoes, and have always got 5s in fitflop trainers, which have been fine. I found these are a tiny bit bigger than my other FF ones, but still fit fine. They are very comfortable.

Definitely not on the wide side. Cut quite narrow on the toe, but normal on the foot. So I'm normally a seven but a six in sketchers. I "fit" a seven in fitflop if you squish my little toe in. I really wasn't over impressed with quality or support and returned the ones I bought. If you're used to sketchers theres no comparison

Love fitflop trainers but size up rather than down, they are on the small size. I'm a 7 but find initially fitflops feel tight.

Thanks all for your guidance.

I think I'll try to find a place that stocks fitflop (found out today that my local Next has them) and try a size 7 on.... other than that it's probably going to be back to the Skechers drawing board!

Agree.

Have a look at Allbirds. They are the most comfortable trainers i have ever had. I suffer from plantar fasciitis from time to time and these really help.

Sorry to pester again, but what about Vans? Have found that they do some shoes described as "stacked" which have the platformy feel I'm looking for.

Are they true to size/large/narrow/wide?

Thanks again!

Will also check out Allbirds Smile

I've got these in white @OliveHenry. Like you, I'm between a 6 and a 7. I bought them in a 6 and they fit perfectly. I really like them. They're comfy, lightweight, and smart.

WhereAreWeNow · 14/04/2021 14:48

Ps. I managed to get them cheaper at Jones Bootmaker. Just over £50.

I think it's a case of horses for courses. I find Sketchers uncomfortable and not deep enough or wide enough, and the soles are not comfy but Fitflop trainers are just right for me - I'd say I am a 6E.

I don't have wide feet overall but I do have a bunion which means I need wider shoes at the toe joint and the Fitflops work well for me. They have quite a slim look - much slimmer that the usual Fitflop look - but they don't feel too narrow.
