Warning for Botox users

I've been having Botox in my forehead, 11s and crows feet for about 2 years and been happy with the results. But I went to someone new, a Dr who has just set up a clinic in a Spa and a week later I've got droopy eyelids, one more than the other.
When I signed the consent form he did tell me that it was a rare complication and when I called his assistant she told me that it should wear off in a few weeks. She mentioned more injections but I really don't want to go down this route.
I'm so embarrassed and ashamed . Has anyone any experience of this and how can I hide it?

Dont go for more Botox and if i were you I wouldn't return to that doctor.
You need to help BOTOX to wear off faster. Hot compresses many times per day on the areas where BOTOX was injected.

I know it can happen, so I have always been injected by plastic surgeons or dermatologists. There can be a complication with anything, but find someone you trust and stick with them. I know you sometimes pay more this way, but I think it is worth it.
The good thing is it will wear off. It is not the same as a big surgery, etc.

It's annoying, I had this once. It wears off.

If you can still move your face/eyebrows then they can usually correct it but I would go back to your original person to fix it.

The trouble with Botox is that it doesn't always produce the same result twice. I go to a prescribing nurse who also trains doctors in Botox and have been for 10 years. Occasionally I get a droop, it wears off and I get used to it, but it's not ideal.

I'm due to go tomorrow and thinking to just get my tramlines done and leave my forehead this time.

Thank you for the replies, it's still the same.
@Mxflamingnoravera, how long did yours take to wear off?

Tbh, it's at least 8 weeks, but it does go back to normal. When it happens I'd recommend not having another top up for 6 months and also accepting that you are prone to droop- it could happen again, especially if you have hooded eyes already. I have hooded eyes. Sometimes I get a great lift and other times it's not so great.

How bad is it? Has anyone else noticed or is it just you that can see it?

Mxflamingnoravera · 14/04/2021 21:23

I should have said that "fixing it" with more Botox can make it worse. I think you have to sit it out. Sorry. :(

aTrafficConeinmySpot · 14/04/2021 21:29

I suppose 8 weeks is better than the 3 months that the Doctor suggested. He kept saying it was very rare but it clearly isn't.
I'd say it's about 25% dropped so yes quite noticeable. The DC think I've got conjunctivitis.

I had very unfortunate BOTOX on my chin done just before an important conference. I couldnt smile as my smile looked veru crooked.
An intense week of hot compresses helped a lot and my smile was almost normal by the time I travelled to the conference.
You don't have to sit and passively wait - you can speed up the process.

KarensChoppyBob · 14/04/2021 22:44

Can I ask why you went to someone new OP?

Check out the Instagram page Somethingwhitty for drooping due to botox. She is fab and taking it all in her stride when it must be such a worrying time
