Thinning hair - feeling desperate

I first noticed that my hair was thinning a bit in my early 30s, which was about 15 years ago. But it looked “normal” as long as I washed it regularly even though I was aware of it thinning gradually.

But over the last 12 months the thinning process has accelerated and now my hair looks terrible and it’s very obviously thin - particularly at the front and top. I am late 40s and otherwise youthful looking. I am really depressed about it. I work in quite a young environment and dread returning to the office.😟

I did consult a doctor a few years ago, who did some blood tests (did now show up anything unusual). I think it’s just my genes but can I do anything? Should I try Nioxin?

I’m in a similar position and have just ordered a bottle of Boost n Blend, which adds tiny fibres to thin hair.

Same boat here. Had my thyroid checked a few years ago and all seemed fine but the thinning especially at the front is really depressing. I’ve even looked into transplants because it makes me so miserable.

I have been using Minoxidil for about 7 months, can't really see any difference, had a video consultation with Philip Kingsley who did say Minoxidil is the only thing that will work
I will give it a bit longer and hope it does some good

Sympathies OP, last year I noticed my hair had thinned considerably in the front although it’s fine elsewhere. I’ve resorted to using a powder along my parting to cover the thinning areas. I’m perimenopausal (early 40s) and am waiting on HRT and hoping that’ll make a difference. I frightened myself by googling frontal fibrosing alopecia but I doubt that’s it as I don’t have any of the other symptoms and my hairline isn’t receding.

In the meantime, the Revolution powder from Superdrug is actually pretty good and only about a fiver. It’s easy to apply and stops me obsessing over my parting on Zoom calls!
