Straight hair, I want wavy.

Hi.
Can anyone please recommend something. I have long, straight, thick hair. I want to make it wavy a couple of days a week (and maybe straighten it other days).
I was about to buy the steampod but I’m seeing many people saying they can’t do waves with it, only straighten with it.

Thanks for any recommendations!

Hot rollers !

Hoppinggreen · 10/04/2021 21:19

Apparently there’s some Tony and Guy mermaid wave thing on Amazon for under £20 that supposed to be good
Thinking about getting one myself

Hoppinggreen · 10/04/2021 21:20

In fact I just did

Corcra · 10/04/2021 21:22

Oh I’ll have at look at the Toni and guy thing!
Can you recommend any particular rollers or do they all do the same job? I’d have never thought of rollers i must admit.
Thanks so much!!

I wave my hair using straighteners. I couldn't imagine how it would work but, now that I've practiced for a while, it literally takes 10 mins. And it stays till I wash it out.

You 100% need the air wrap. It does all of these styles. Effortlessly.

Corcra · 10/04/2021 22:25

That airwrap looks fab! I need to justify the price. I’ll look into it. Thanks.
I’ve never been able to do waves with a straightner. Maybe I’ll have a look at some tutorials. Thanks 😊

Damp hair, a little bit of mousse then put it in a low bun and go to bed, undo in the am, run fingers through it and a little bit of hair spray - natural loose waves.
Btw The tighter the bun the tighter the waves, try it a few times to see which works for you.

Try a protein treatment on the straight bits. Don't use heat on it it'll do more damage.

It arrived this morning. I have only had a little play with it but am quite impressed so far.
