How do you wear palazzos?

Starting another highly sophisticated and intelectual thread Grin. I am going back to work at the real life on Monday. I want to be comfortable but not too sporty. I can wear sneakers. I am pear shape but tall enough. Advice?

You can wear hem with trainers. Slipper-like shoes, like ballet flats or a low heel, look best IMO.

If you work somewhere with lots of stairs, like midi skirts, they can be a bit of a hazard.

But what about tops? Sweaters? Shouldn't be something to baggy, I guess

I just googled the question and most seem to be tucked in fully or just the french tuck to help define the waist. I have one nice pair but sadly I've eaten too much. I'm hoping to be able to get back in to them in time!

I don't know if won't look like a balloon with the things tucked in Blush

The only people at work I think who look elegant in palazzos are the ones who wear them Indo-Pakistani style - ie cropped and with a short kurta and heels. Otherwise they always look too much like creased pyjamas.

I think a structured wide leg trouser in a thicker material styled with heels might work better if you want to look fairly put together.

I'd wear with

  • cropped(ish) boxy sweatshirt or t-shirt or heavy linen shirt
  • wrap top of some sort (linen, knitted)

Same as @thedevilinablackdress

These are the ones I have and planed to use them with white sneakers. I think something boxy and short on top will do. I don't pretend to be elegant and bother with high heels if I don't have formal meetings. Thank you x the suggestions Smile

I have those and the cropped version. I wear them with very fitted vests. And yes, a shorter, boxy jumper or sweatshirt. White trainers or sandals.

I don't think a baggy top would work at all.

Also, they are quite casual - kind of leisure wear. I wouldn't be able to wear them to my work.

LadyAgripina · 10/04/2021 17:10

I will see if a blazer or something formal (Ish) on top does the trick. I need a rehab after months of wfh. Sad

I have those and love them, but they are super-casual and I just wear them at home, running errands etc. I go for a fitted T or boxy light knit.

LadyAgripina · 10/04/2021 19:34

Blush These are the only "trousers" I have left that fit me.

They look lovely. I am sure they will be fine for work.

LadyAgripina · 10/04/2021 23:12

@LadyTiredWinterBottom2 thank you Smile

I like them and they are a casual style, but I think workplaces will be a bit more casual after lockdown. Almost everyone has got used to the casual downtime look and I think if formal come back it’ll be a while.

LadyAgripina · 11/04/2021 12:29

@Waterfallgirl yes, and we won't be receiving people and part of the staff will come in bubbles. Not in my case, unfortunately:(

I have worn with tailored shirts tucked in and sleeves rolled up. Fitted long sleeved 'bodies'. Cashmere jumpers tucked in - the sort that fit in a loose-is body skimming way, but not baggy. I think they can be fine for work.

LadyAgripina · 11/04/2021 22:30

Thankyou @SummaLuvin sounds so nice! I don't have imagination about clothes.Smile
