Blusher/highlighter only serves to accentuate the lines under my eyes nowadays 🥴

Shall I just give up on it?

I’ve tried a cream blush but it ends up caking into the dewy foundation/spf that I use. Powder blush kind of gets grabbed by the moisture and doesn’t so right. Both seem to accentuate the cross hatch lines I have under my eyes. So I’m not sure whether to just not bother or am I missing some secret trip for mature skin?

I haven’t quite got to this stage yet but my immediate reaction was to either online chat or (soon) visit a store like MAC for advice.

A light powder highlighter is better than liquid on mature skin.

Bit late to the party, but, if you happen to read this, I recommend cleansing, gently exfoliating, then toning your face, and applying a serum (not a serum that contains silicone). Next, put on a primer. Apply foundation, let settle for 5 minutes & apply a very finely milled setting powder. Buff & buff & buff the powder away. You're now ready for your blusher, highlighter, lippy, etc. You won't be disappointed with the result! X

Firstly, you need to start using a retinol if you're not already. Second, it sounds as though your foundation plus the cream blush may be too heavy. As you get older, the lighter the better when it comes to foundation. I would also try a powder blush with a silky formula.

Blush doesn't generally sit right under your eyes. If you place it higher on your cheekbones to the side, I'm not sure how it is migrating to your under eye area

Trinny London do a nice blur you could use before your foundation, my mum uses it and really loves it. I second exfoliating, moisturiser and prime skin I have a really nice thick ysl primer and a Bobbi brown one and both are lovely and go a long long way you don’t need much. Bryony Blake does some really nice natural/dewy make up looks you could check her out on YouTube/Instagram she tries lots of different products too.
