DIY ten years younger

Evening all,

I have been watching 10 years younger on channel 5 and I have decided that I am going to do my own DIY version to try and combat the ageing process!

I have two children under 2 which certainly doesn't help! I've fallen into the trap of wearing hoodies and leggings each day and I don't even have time to blow dry my hair due to the hours my husband works. I need to regain control and cordon off a bit of time for myself so that I don't lose who I am!

I think ten categories which I need to research and focus on include:

  • hair
  • make up
  • nails
  • weight loss/diet and exercise
  • teeth
  • skincare
  • treatments
  • clothing
  • stress and mindfulness
  • me time
  • sleep

I am going to tackle weight loss and stress /mindfulness first off. Sleep will hopefully follow shortly once my baby starts sleeping later in the mornings.

Does anyone have top tips

Tia! x

Ps ultimately, I just want to look better not actually ten years younger 🤣🤣

I'd start with teeth. Get into the habit of daily flossing, get an electric toothbrush if you don't have one already, and book a hygienist appointment for a good scale and polish.

Mindfulness wise, I'm currently listening to a book on audible by the guy who co created the headspace app, his voice is very soothing! It's called 'The Headspace Guide to Mindfulness and Meditation' by Andi Puddicombe.

I think good nutrition and drinking water are the foundation that tick all of these boxes.
Yoga will tick exercise/mindfullness/sleep and clothes as they will hang better on you.
Hair - a few face framing highlights and a good cut that needs no styling
Skincare - balm/cream cleanser, vit c, spf 50 am/ retinol pm followed by a face oil
Makeup. define brows/lashes and lips. Look at a bronzer/blush/highlighter hybrid for a subtle glow. I got a gorgeous set from Essence called Glow Up. £5 and better than my Hourglass version! Avoid foundation if you can.
Try and carve out 2 hours once a week for a pamper - bath/exfoliate/deep condition hair/face massage with a gua sha or roller/sheet mask/subtle fake tan/pedicure/manicure. You will feel like a new woman afterwards.
Wardrobe cull - address gaps via Pinterest outfit ideas. Shops open next week Grin

Just realised this list could be daunting with 2 under 2!
5 minutes of yoga a day? There are some good sun salutation 5 minute flows on YT
When mine were that young, I would do beauty jobs whilst they were in the bath all in the bathroom together.
I also used to keep my makeup in the kitchen so would do my spf. then help feed/play, go back and do eyes etc.

You could get your oldest to do yoga with you whilst youngest naps? There are some good fun kids yoga videos - Frozen or Pirate themed etc on YT which would still give you a good workout and they would love to join in.
